It's three weeks overdue, but who cares, I finally finished this thing!

For Spring Break I wanted to do another piece featuring the girl characters from my "Legion of Eternity" story in swimwear, as I have done other times in the past. Took me awhile to finally finish detailing the drawings and then scanning them, etc.

When I finally got to the coloring bit, I was about to do my usual coloring style when I stopped and figured I'd probably do it later, but just out of fun I decided to color the back layer beneath the drawing with the paintbrush to see what it would look like. As you can see, I ended up doing the whole picture that way, and I think it ended up looking pretty interesting, actually. It reminds me of some of the game art I've seen in a few other games where the artwork creates a raw, edgey feeling. This style kinda fits the theme, I think.

Those who have been watching my stuff for awhile may find the sunset familiar. It's the same standard Sunset layer I used in my other piece.

As with my other ones, the outfits are meant to relate with each character's origins and personality.

-The first girl you probably don't recognise-she's Galatea Valasques. (Formerly Galatea Rodregiez) I haven't drawn her in ages...and up to this point she's only been shown wearing the skintight black outfit that looked like a Spider-Man ripoff. I've decided to remove that aspect and have her look more human from now on. Her outfit's colors and style just feels right for her Latin roots.

-Celstia's got the same outfit I've put her in a few times before, but for this time around I removed her see-through cover, and added another flower at her hip. It feels kinda Hawaiian, realting it back to her oceanic origins.

-Third is Kachina. Since I'm taking a more modern approach to the design of my characters, Kachina's older outfit became her "swimsuit". The Red and Blue combined with Earthly brown represents her Native American heratige.

-Since Clarissa Lasade is going to be part of her own story in the past now, her modern equivelant Clair Lasade takes her place. Her red and black outfit with fishnets reflect her rebelious, wild, and firey personality.
