Description
Created in Garry's Mod. Map is duel_district from "Blade Symphony". Zoey and Left 4 Dead is copyright of Valve.---
A "Secret Agent" version of Zoey was released as a mod for L4D2 not too long ago, and a Gmod version came out soon afterwards. Wish there was a version that was zipped up a little bit more and didn't have "Combat Heels", but eh. I like this model a lot, though, so I thought I'd do a few Spy-themed shots with her.
---
For some reason this reminds me of that scene in "Boondock Saints" where Agent Smecker (Willam DaFoe's character) rants about how vent crawling only happens on TV. The fact is, most air vents are way too small for people to crawl through, and even then, they'd typically make a helluva lot of noise, which is the last thing you want a facility full of armed mercenaries noticing. That said, I can't see vent crawling ever going away as an action/spy story trope.

I think it's funny how many times this picture has been stolen and reposted on the L4D2 Steam community artwork page. Honestly though, if you see someone reposting this pic, send 'em a link to this page to prove it's a repost.

There's a technique used in professional productions called the 'three point lighting" technique. I use it all the time with my pics using the lamp tools. Here's more information on it:Β en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-poβ¦
I usually like to place the subject of my pics in a nice dark area so that I can have as much control as I can over the lighting. I'll typically use two lamps for the fill and back lights, then a regular light for the fill. If I have several subjects at once and the some of the faces are too dark, I may use a dim lamp with a much smaller FOV aimed specifically at a character's face to compensate.
Also it's always a good idea to add color to your lamps and not leave them plain white; like how in this picture I used blue and red (opposing colors) to make the image more visually interesting. Another popular light combo I like to use is Cyan/Teal (Light greenish blue) and orange. This combo give your pics a nice cinematic look that's actually used a lot in modern movies:Β mehlsbells.files.wordpress.comβ¦

Sorry for the 5 month late response, but it looks like you're using Lights instead of Lamps, there's a difference.

Your red and blue lamps are a bit too blue and too red. Tone it back so it's halfway between white and the color.
Also, I should mention camerawork is important, too. Back up and zoom in with the camera by holding the right mouse button and moving the mouse towards your subject. To reset the zoom, hit reload.

I love your shots of Agent Zoey, and this has to be my favorite one of them. Stunning!

"One thing Video Games have taught me, good shit always comes in vents."
I wonder if S.H.I.E.L.D. knew about the green flu outbreak all along but didn't do a thing because they don't know how to cure it?
The reason I said S.H.I.E.L.D. is because there's an emblem of that organization on Zoey's arm.
