Ringing in 2023 with the Horned Toad SPAAG, a marriage of two off-the-shelf systems as a stop-gap measure to quickly obtain a mobile AA defense for smaller infantry formations. While the quad fifties did drop off in effectiveness against the heavily-armoured ground-attack aircraft being fielded at the time, it was still a useful deterrent. The Horned Toad, however, particularly shone in suppressing infantry (conventional or otherwise), often taking advantage of its mobility to quickly reposition itself in order to deliver enfilade fire, enabled by advances in brain-box technology that made the UB Chassis a responsive & well-balanced platform with semi-autonomous functions.

It did have its issues, though. A retractable monopod 'tail' had to be deployed when stationary, due to stability problems from the recoil of multiple guns. In addition, the placement of the guns obstructed the operator's peripheral vision & situational awareness--it was rarely assigned an independent role. It was also lightly armored & lacking in overhead protection due to weight limitations. By itself, it also had to rely entirely on visual tracking, with no optronics asides from a simple reflex sight.
