Garnet likes Ruby and views her as a big sister, these two met one day when Silver had to watch Garnet for the day at beacon, and Ruby happened to come by with Yang to hang out, and once Ruby and Garnet got to know one another a little, they became friends, and after a while Garnet began to see Ruby as her big sister, and from time to time calls her big sis (which of course makes ruby happy, and adores Garnet for calling her that).
