Description
"As the energy built in his hand from the tome, words of another tongue escaped his lips in breath rather than voice and arcane runes began to appear around him..."Hey, everyone. I'm not dead. Just been kinda going through some... trying times, including confidence. But with some encouragement, I felt this one was good enough to show you all. I've been editing things on Vassi as he (along with many others) try to go to a more original story route, than LoZ. I hope the edits are all favorable. I really like his boots and tome, myself.

Good to see you doing some more artwork, Ryo! I definitely like the style of the clothings, does sorta give this... aristocratic air. Something about the perspective of the book sorta looks off to me, but maybe the lines on the page are just throwing off my vision. I recognize some of the markings on the spine of the tome, though. Is it me, or does one of them sorta like the Oblivion main symbol? It's good to get back to doing artwork, definitely. ^^ Maybe try to clean up a little more on the lines you've erased? They're quite noticeable when you zoom in close, and I guess they're just distracting to someone like me who loves looking at details. XD; ...I'm also highly distracted and stuff so...
Definitely keep up with your art. Do what you love, and know there are people who love to see it. Don't let the opinions of others stop you from the art you want to do.

Books, especially open books, are a little bit hard to draw. I was mostly focusing on the symbol on the side. You're half right with the symbol on the spine. It's not the symbol from Oblivion's main screen, but the letters here are from that alphabet. It's just that letter is "V" instead of "O", which can be seen by the lack of a dot in the middle. (If you can translate the other two symbols, you'll see what it may be trying to say ^^) The big symbol on the book is "L", btw.
About the comment on doing better on erasing lines. . . I don't erase lines. Like, at all. xD; So it's no surprise you see them, I didn't even try to get rid of them. I pretty much never do, unless I make a REAL bad mistake.
Thanks. I'm just... more choosy about what I make public, nowadays.

I never actually got so much into the game that I researched the alphabet, so... XD;; I haven't touched it in years actually. 100+ hours from that was apparently enough for me. >> I should go see how many hours X-fire recorded...
Aaah, gotcha. Yeah, I notice details a lot so it kept throwing me off when I looked up close and saw the sketching lines there... XD; I didn't remember if you cleaned them up or not.
Yeah, I definitely understand. But if ya don't ignore them and keep posting, how will you improve with the aid of constructive criticism and advice, ya know? ^^ Everyone has detractors to every hobby they do.

The alphabet is used in the other games of that series as well, especially Morrowind. When I saw a website that had translation to all the letters, I thought they looked kinda... magical. So I went with them as arcane runes, 'cause that's what they looked like.
Don't get me wrong, I have been continuing to sketch stuff when I've felt able to. I'm just not always sure what's good enough to show. (Some things were also private gifts) I felt this one was really high on my list, so I decided to show this one.

Heh, though just a forewarning that if you want to do something completely original, you may need to forego using the Elder Scrolls series' Dremora runes. Try sketching and coming up with your own stuff, eh? It might actually be fun to try and design arcane runes~ Wish I had the skill to try. XD
Don't be concerned about something being "good enough" to show, otherwise we may never actually show anything because we're so perfectionist minded. Posting stuff allows for helpful comments and critiques on how to improve. Yes, negative and non-constructive feedback can happen, but those with constructive criticism would be willing to help with good feedback and ideas~ In the process of shaping new characters, it's always good to hear about something you may have missed while designing and the like.

I've tried. Many times... failed horribly every time. I can never get anything memorable... And they just wind up looking like sticks or curly-qs, as my mom says.
Maybe, but I don't exactly feel right about posting things I don't feel good about, myself, you know?

Look up different examples of runes. For example, these: [link]
Ya just gotta try to make something original, yeah? Try and keep trying. Don't give up at it.
Yeyah, I know what you mean

Poses are the hardest thing for me, really. I wanna draw some more (a couple being updates on Ryo and RebΓ©) but I just can't get a fitting pose for them... This one for Vassi came from a couple of his oldest images, sort of a then-and-now effect. ^^ Glad you like!

Ach, I definitely understand what you mean. Poses are the enemy of the art world..
