Description Vassi laid in the corner of the prison cell, hugging himself from the pain in his body from the fight before and his head in a haze. Confused from Vvortox's misery, itself confused from having just split by Ryo taking the Tome.

Then a shadow came over him, followed by the shadows of the bars moving to open up and let the new shadow in. Maria had come to see her tortured husband. Vassi's expression was very twisted, showing his strange state of mind. Eve nhis eyes displayed the madness within. Maria at first just gazed upon him in this state, her heart tugged at severely. She knew this isn't her husband fully, merely being manipulated by a demon.

She knelt near him, but not quite yet next to him. His words seemed almost like two voices as he spoke in whispers.

"My wife...! You have come to me..." he breathes. "At last, a face I can trust...! Did you get it for me...? My tome... he stole it when he crippled me. Please tell me you have it with you. . . ?"

"I... know how much it means to you, but I'm afraid I do not. It --" Maria began, but her words are silenced as he suddenly hissed at her like an angered snake!

"Worthless woman! Your husband is in pain and locked away to rot in this so-called 'benevolent' land and you care not to comfort us??" he snarled with a piercing glare.

"Us". He had just confirmed the horrifying suspicion. He grabbed his forehead in frustration as he painfully groans, "My pain is unbearable... Alone I have suffered once... alone I suffer again... Alone..." Then looking skyward, he continued on, "Heh heh... heh heh heh heh... heh heh hah hah hah...! I am alone in darkness...! Darkness is the one that has never betrayed me...! Hah hah hah hah hahahahaha...!!"

As his wide-eyed laughs seem to make him appear all the more insane, tears began to fall from those eyes... he lowered his head again, gripping his forehead once again as a voice that seems his own pleaded to her softly, "...help me..."

Maria lifted her crystal ball to him, looking through it as if a lens to see the dark entity causing his pain. Vvortox's darkness like a blanket wrapped around Vassi's body, its eye on his head is what she beheld. Calling then upon her Sacred Seals, a white serpent comes out of the crystal sphere and clamped its jaws upon Vassi's head! When it pulls back, it drags Vvortox off him like a discarded cloak. Vvortox quickly leaves once barren of its host to go find the Tome and re-unite with its other half.

Vassi just slumped his freed body in the corner of the prison, now in his right mind. But he's appalled by what Vvortox made him do, in the attempt to kill Ryo and how he talked to Maria.

"What have I done...!" he gasps, burying his face in his hands as Maria came closer to hug him, leaning him on herself and her head on his. She just wants to comfort her lover in his time of suffering, now that he was indeed her lover once again.

". . . what have I done. . ."

-EDIT-
After watching some cut-scenes of Dynasty Warriors 6 with my darling, I began to think on some interesting scenarios, but I couldn't figure out the reasoning behind them. See, Sima Yi's voice sounds like Vassi, we figure, and he gained the trust of a very high-up man, Cao Cao, then later kills him and takes the throne, himself. I thought of Vassi challenging Ryo, but why on earth would he do that? Vassi is grateful for being where he is today because of the generosity of the Royal Family. So I got to thinking, maybe Vassi was heavily influenced... but Vassi's brain is sharper than a sword. So that left Possession as an option, and he has had this happen before as a child. So this scenario came about:

Vvortox has returned and has possessed Vassi's magic book. He slowly scratches and grabs Vassi's mind as he remains in close proximity to the Tome. Later, Ryo crosses Vassi in a meeting, but something light that Vassi would otherwise have disregarded... but with Vvortox at the helm, as it were, he sought to take Ryo's life and claim the throne, himself in Vassi's body! Ultimately, he loses the fight and is dragged off to the prisons but the Tome is taken from him, splitting Vvortox in two. Now with Vvortox, who's already insane, split, he can't think right and it's driving Vassi's own mind mad. Only Maria's driving out this demon is able to save him. But with the Tome still possessed, the threat is far from over...

And an extra thank you to my love, for helping me with Maria's lines and getting me to think of this storyline to begin with!

Wow. Poor Vassi. He really needs Maria right now.

I love the story and the picture. So filled with sorrow. I love the poses in the picture and the detail. I also love the facial expression on Maria.

I love your story bit! You write Vassi's temporary derangement and remorse so well! Both drawing and writing perfectly complement each other!

. . . Wow. . . You write sad scenes so perfectly (not that sad is good) I'm actually wiping my eyes right now after reading it. Um, what ezactly is the "Tome"?

A Tome, as I understand it, is a thick book of importance. For example, thick novels or perhaps ancient historical documentation. I don't know the "perfect" definition of Tome but this is how I kinda understood it when I heard it used.

In this case, it's referring to Vassi's magic book, a magic book once used by the dark wizard Aganhim of ALttP (big story behind that). However, Vvortox has possessed this book, and being in Vassi's possession, it possessed him too, leading to rather betraying events.

Oh cool! I loved ALttP, but did Aganhim have a sacred book? He was Ganon's alter-ego of course.

Sacred, no. That would imply he had something holy. This Tome is a book of dark spells, means of attack and suffering. Vassi has just been using it to punish evil instead of enforce it. It was a big risk to use it, but Vassi's had it under control. Vvortox kinda ruined that, though.

However, officially? I don't know if Aganhim had a magic book or not. One would think he learned his spells from somewhere. But since his history isn't ever truly stated, hard to say. I just took the liberty of using that uncertainty to my advantage.

Hm, you should really play the game. I'm just happy my SNES still works. ^^

I have, actually.
I did play the beginning part up to... about Mothula, I believe. The rest I had to look on YouTube, 'cause the friend who had the SNES moved away.

But that's why I say it's not really certain of Aganhim's history, as he just sort of 'appears' in the game as one of the main characters, seeming to have been the King's wizard perhaps. They did put some effort into his past in the manga, but Aganhim wasn't Ganon's alter-ego there. He was a servant of Ganon. So, it really depends on what version you wanna take.
