Description

Here is a light Escort raider type warship. A light Escort raider is a ridiculously fast escort grade warship designed to escort larger combat and battle raiders with some capability towards independent raiding actions. However they are usually operating with the larger raiders, as an Escort raider is only capable of overpowering patrol ships by itself, and is generally outgunned by dedicated fleet escorts. Compared to a fleet Escort the Escort raider sacrifices firepower and shield strength for increased speed. It doesn't really sacrifice armor, as both ship types have largely unarmored hulls anyway, so there isn't any armor to sacrifice. IT also has increased operating range over fleet escorts. It is the smallest Raider type designed for raiding actions outside of friendly territory or border regions, as smaller patrol raiders generally lack the range to operate far out of the border territories.
