So I got totally carried away with this - BUT, it was a great exercise in all aspects. I feel like I've been staring at this for way too long, everything's starting to look weird Had bunches of fun though.

But yeah, I've been playing The Witcher 3 (I'm like a quarter way in, so no spoilers please!), and it absolutely had to be done.

Let me state first that I don’t know anything about The Witcher, or this character for that matter, so while writing this critique I’m just guessing that the pose, the choice of light and the composition are your own ideas, but the character design is not.

I think this is a really good piece of art. The colors are well balanced, there’s a lot of expression in the face and you’ve picked a very nice brush to work with. As for feedback, I would say that the composition can be a bit more interesting. Your drawing is a quite static, while it can be more impressive if you change it just a little bit. For example; if you just turn the character 5 or 10 degrees counterclockwise or even clockwise, the piece would be more enthralling to look at.
I also would place the hand with the fire a little higher, because this way it feels a bit off (like it isn’t an important part of the painting, but still draws much attention because of its colors). I also think that the fire should spread more light. The armor can use some extra red/orange colored light, so it all blends neatly together.

I hope you find this feedback helpful. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I definitely see what you mean with the turning; I was, in fact, considering it, but then decided against it for some reason. Thinking back now, I think it might've been a better choice. (:

Thanks again for all the tips, I'll be sure to take them into account with my future stuff. Much appreciated! ^^

The colours and painting on this is amazing! I also love how much detail you put in it all. (I'm looking at you chain-mail)
