Geek. The correct term is geek. A nerd more has to do with academic studies while geeks are more of a... non-academic nerd.

I don't like the term geek because it was also used for performers at carnivals that bit the heads of chickens and other small animals. Also, I've heard geek applied to academic studies as well. The terms are pretty well interchangeable by preference.
