So many times it seems like people only look up to those who tear others down. The stereotypical popular kid in school is always the one hurting others, the most popular music artists are the ones who sing angry songs about drugs, sex, and partying. I don't like that. I don't like how as a society we glorify the corrupt.

And that's why Ash has been my role model for so long. I don't care if I'm an 18 year old girl, that ten year old kid means a lot to me. The original theme was so inspiring as well. Aside from the famed I want to be the very best like no one ever was , you have other inspiring lyrics: every challenge along the way, with courage I will face. I will battle every day to claim my rightful place. Come with me, the time is right. There's no better team. Arm in arm we'll win the fight, it's always been our dream. What do shows teach kids now-a-days? Cheating others will get you what you want? Self pleasure is more important than the right thing? If something's broke, don't fix it, just get a new one? No wonder our society is the way it is. Although, I guess if kids actually watched real kid's shows they wouldn't be learning that stuff. No, kids these days watch MTV and the like. Personally, I prefer "kid's" shows, because they have lessons that are still applicable in adult life.

Honestly, Pokemon has taught me so much over the years: perseverance when times get rough; optimism when things look grim; fighting for what is right even though what is bad seems easier; friendship is more important than money, power, or fame; don't judge people right away; give people second chances; sometimes the right thing to do will make you cry; courage; loyalty; patience; self-worth; and to never, ever, stop trying to be my very best.

Sigh, oh well, I'll get off my soap box now.
