Hey Steff.Β I was looking over your more colorful, painting-like pieces and I was just wondering what program you use or recommend for coloring.Β My old PS CS2 isn't working well for me and SAI doesn't have a ton of versatility (or maybe it does and I don't know it).Β What tools or brushes do you use to get that grainy, dry-brush look?Β I'm going to try to get myself to do some color/blending studies and I love how your coloring has lots of texture to it.

I actually use Clip Studio Paint for some time now and I reeeally enjoy that program. First I tried Sai for a little bit but it didn't really make click with that program, you know. I only use PS at work and barely at home, only when I want to give the drawing a final touch with some effects. PS CS2 is pretty damn old , CS6 has drastic changes compared to that.
In this case I painted the pic in Clip Studio Paint. The brushes I use are the standard ones. Outlines made with the pen, flat colors with the oil brush and the shading and highlights with several watercolor brushes.
When I was done it looked a lil blurry on some parts, so I put it in PS, added some layers with different layer modes and put the sharpening filter over it.
The layer modes and sharpening filter also exists in Clip studio paint though.
You can also put real textures you find on the net over your pic and then put the layer mode on overlay. there are different possibilities.
Uuuh I hope this wasn't too confusing, it's hard to explain it well by writing. xD
