Description
Yeah, so I decided to attempt to draw a training picture!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sloane grabbed a halter and walked towards the pasture, where a certain young horse was grazing. The beautifully coloured stallion looked up curiously at her, and wondered why his paddock time was being interrupted. He saw the halter in hand, let out a little frustrated sigh, and walked to the person to be haltered. "Good boy, ready for some training?" Sloane said cheerfully.
'Training? Oh crap...' They have been going over light training through lunging and such for months now.
They finally got back to the stallion wing of the barn, to be greeted by Humble sticking his head out. Elmo nickered towards the Holsteiner, they had grown to be somewhat friends over the years. Sloane lead the Nordanner over to the cross-ties in the middle of the aisle. "We got this tack just for you! It will work until I figure out how to draw obtain some Nordanner tack" She presented a nice shiny dressage saddle and bridle, along with a fluffy pad. She also had a nice, rich coloured red saddle pad and wraps. After Elmo was cleaned and fully tacked, he looked stunning. She lead Elmo out of the stable and into their round pen. She wanted to make sure her first mount on him went well. She walked him to the center, leaped up, and sat still to see how he reacted. Elmo noticed the new weight, and accepted it. After 2 hours of simple walking in circles and such, they finished the first day of practice. Elmo had reacted well the entire lesson. Hopefully things will continue to go the way they are going. After untacking, Elmo was treated to a juicy apple and a nice shower. He happily crunched on the apple and enjoyed the nice water on his coat. He could get used to more of this pampering!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About a year later, they had progressed impressively. Elmo and Sloane were a great match, and did well in training. It was obvious that Elmo was perfect for dressage training. His gaits were smooth, his transitions flawless, and whenever he was presented with a new dressage move, he performed it without question. One day they decided to take a walk up to the forest arena to do some training. It was late afternoon in late September. All the trees glowed neon orange (well actually it would look more green and marshy than ever, but I wanted it to look more autumny, ok?
I wanted it to look like that, because the rider turned out sucky and I didn't want people's eyes to be drawn to it!
