Hmm, I see that you never knew about most Valve's games from the old days. Most of these are from a game called "Half-Life", and even a friend of yours in the comments below can easily guess these logos.

I still remember when I spelled lambda wrong and got lamba. Safe to say when I noticed I laughed for like 5 minutes.

Whenever I look at the Black Mesa logo, I see a bunker sitting in the ground.

They could either be just randomly design about it or maybe because Black Mesa is both on the 'Mesa' rock surface and underground. which may be the idea in designing the logo.

So the environment that the facility located, or I could say the Rocky surface is called "Mesa"? Interesting.

Yeah, the word "Mesa" means table in Spanish.
Its mostly a flat-topped hill that has wider surface area. Which explains why Black Mesa is so big and that one part from Half-Life in where you come out of the pipe and found yourself at the cliff area is where you are at the steep side of the hill.

Yup. All of them combined into 1 single thing into Hλlf-Life.
Maybe Aperture is pretty much majorly appeared in Portal, but it also involved in Episode 2.
