i too longed for the balloon to be higher, further from her and more distinct but the wind was going -----> that way
if i had of waited it would of moved out of the frame unfortunately,
i did however follow its journey above the buildings for a bit, didnt really work as i hoped as a triptych though

just from the thumb the colors screamed and I knew I would like this photo...
then to full view....great detail, interesting surrounding, nice composition..and her!
she has a strange "ah who gives a rats" look on her face and body language...she reminds me of a crazy old woman.
but what keeps drawing me in...is the writing on the balloons and why is she letting them go?
Balloons are fun, they should be tied to a string and held and bounced around by small children and youthful adults.
So I think...she obviously isn't an environmentalist....polluting the world with brightly colored latex balloon bits.
Perhaps she is a humanitarian sending out messages of hope, good wishes, prophecies, or advice to who ever captures their fabulous floating fortune.
Maybe she is an angel, earthbound, and sending postcards home to the clouds.

what i can tell you is, in the full res version of this shot you can clearly read some of the balloons

iunno but my theory was she was making a statement about how fleeting somethings in life are... but thats just a guess.
I really should have spoken to her and seen what the story is as opposed to just stealing her soul and taking off

I love the serious undertones in this image and title. There is truth in humour and even though it is sometimes possible to laugh away an incident (particularly after it has occured), often its not. But maybe Im reading too far into it. I love it at face value too and thats why its such an effective image, I think. Thanks for sharing it with us.
