Hello. I commissioned this artwork.
The hand was actually a personal request of mine, now that you point it out. I always have my hands in the pocket, so the trainer had to also ^^. I imagine trainer walked to the grave both of his hands in the pockets. When arriving he pulled the pokeball out from the pocket/ or lifted it from the ground.
But hey, it is always nice to have new ideas. What would you have done with the hand? It was originally going to just hang on the side. It looked unnatural to me so I asked it to be changed.
But GOD how I love the Jolteon!!! and the feraligat is in the clouds. It was Sa-Duis idea.

But if you want, here is my idea: the right hand with the ball, and the left hand pull the cab to hide his teary eyes. But that is just my personal idea!

It was originally supposed to be that his hair or "shadow" covered the face. But the hair looked ridicilous and since San-dui is so good it worked this way. The process of sketches and discussion was fun.

This really tugs at my heartstrings...because while I have my gameboy I was unable to retrieve the information within it for some of my pokemon, so I effectively "lost them" so to speak.
I love how you have conveyed the emotions here with the character's posture and colouring, as well as the facial expression!
