How do you get your decals to be so high quality? Whenever I try to draw decals in gimp, the size of the image has to be so small to fit the mini figure's body, that the pixels are way too visible.

I use a vector art program called Corel Draw, rather than a raster art program like GIMP. Vector programs are better for printing because they come out sharp at any size.
But you can still design high quality decals in GIMP - you just need to design them at a much higher resolution - preferably 300 pixels per inch. This will make your image look HUGE on the screen, but as long as the print size is still correct in inches/centimeters, it will still print out the right size, but this time it will be sharp.
