Description
Two angry Iguanodon males slug it out in a contest of strength, inflicting nasty wounds with their thumb-spikes. The more heavily scarred bull is a veteran of combat and intends to show this young whelp just how out of line he is.my favorite of the Iguanodonts. It took five tries to sketch this out, and i'm very happy about how well it worked. The pose was done using Luis V. Rey's muttaburrasaurus as a reference. The rips and scars in the Iguanodons' flanks were inspired by Marco Signore's Allosaurus illustrations for Matteo Bacchin's "Dinosaurs" comic books.

Iguanodon probably had an aggression level similar to a modern moose.

Of course, we don't know that for certain yet.

Yeah. Also this definitely reminds me of that scene in Disney Dinosaur where Aladar fights Kron.

That wasn't what I thought of when I was sketching this. I was thinking of the Rhabdodon fight in Dinosaur Planet.

I was quite shocked to hear that Balaur was a herbivorous bird and not a raptor.

I'm not. Isolation on islands can create strange creatures.

I guess even 'the cows of the Cretaceous' have their violent moments; and then there'd been 'Pod's Travels' back in 2001...
