I always keep assuming Lycaenops was small, but after seeing this skull, I'll never make that assumption ever again. It makes a wolf snout look like a chew toy.Related content

That actually makes it clear Lycaenops was NOT a small mesopredator but a full-on large top predator....

I mean... is that even fair? I think even a polar bear would pale in comparison with a gorgonopsid...

And yes, Kekoa the wolf (my gorgon comparison) is a cuddly boy. He's actually very sweet natured and has a most interesting backstory.

Kekoa most certainly is a love bug; even more so than his sister, Sakara. He was also the only wolf at his sanctuary to have pups (his daughter and former mate also live there, too).
