If you can do anything like it in mandelbulber, give it a try. It all boils down to rotate or multiple-rotate a negatively scaled box with julia on. Endless possibilities and once you've found a good place you will find render after render

Thanks for the tip, my friend. I never got rotated box to look good.. Takes a while to find the "sweet spots", I guess, so I'll try negative scaling + julia soon..

A good tip, indeed! Took me two nights of staring at cobweb to find something useful
and I did!
My first rotbox is rendering right now - only 7 hrs to go... - to be posted tomorrow night.
