Description
Death (from Puss in Boots) seeks to take Cluny the Scourge's soul for all the darkest deeds he has committed, which includes all the lives he's taken through murder (including what he did to Matthias' family), plundering villages (including the one Matthias used to live before moving to Redwall), horse abuse, faking a request for peace when he arrived Redwall only to bring articles of slavery, conquest, and, eventually, death, stealing the abbey's tapestry of Martin the Warrior, taking hostages, all his attempts to take Redwall, holding the abbey and its inhabitants under siege, sending his horde out to capture and force woodlanders to work for him to take the Abbey, forcing a dormouse to give him and his horde access to the abbey (while holding his family under the threat of harm), and for fatally injuring Abbot Mortimor with his poisonous barb of his tail. Cluny sees his life flashing before his eyes, knowing that he can not shake off this grim-reaping wolf (for not even his weapons or tricks can stop him), and feels true fear, which doesn't help since Death can smell it and enjoys it. All Cluny can do is run, if he can outrun him.
