France says "His rain" because in French to say "it's raining" you'd say "il pleut" which literally means "he rains", "he" being God, I assume. Just a bit of bilingual snobbery.

"il" can also be translated as "it", so really translates as "it rains". But I like it better the other way. :I

You are right, 'il fait pleut' doesn't make any sense, at all. But if your looking for weird French habits notice 'tu vas nous manquer' means 'we will miss you' but directly translated it's 'you will miss us'. I don't know why that is.

English has it's own weird rules. ("Should" vs. "Shoulder" is my favorite example.) French just tries to sound as pretty as possible regardless of its own rules. Ughh, languages.

Or French has a large problem with change, it does not like to be moved when it doesn't have consent. Stubborn it is. Having things like 'you just have to know it' 'the rules are quite simple' .... um, it's not simple for me, and it's my first language.
I'm trying to learn Ciliric (the russian alphabet) but with no influences of the language around me yet; I sense it will be impossible.
The reason I'm not learning chinese is the fact that you need to know 4,000 symbols to read a good book. My peers are trying to urge me to learn it because that's where the worlds next influence will be in the next 50 years but I don't know if I'm ready.
And then, out of luck I find out I'll be forced to learn Spanish next year.

I've learned to read Cyrillic (I've yet to become fluent in Russian, but I can understand some basic words.) and it gets easier with practice. (If you haven't completely given up hope, this is a cute guide: [link] )
We'll all be forced to learn Spanish one day, I imagine, and Chinese will surely follow. Oh, lingua franca; you are such a fickle thing.

I've been tutored in Russian and it's much more complicated but I will persevere. My parents didn't want me to learn Polish because they didn't think the community was big enough. By the way, Hetalia isn't my largest influence on what language I learn. I chose from what I think will help me become a better student. Russian seems impossible, so I will learn it and later in life it will help. Somehow.
I know Spanish will help but quite frankly, even if I hold the highest respect for those who speak it fluently, it doesn't interest me yet.
Chinese is so underestimated and influential I'm sure it will come bite everyone in the back when they least expect it, it's the next world power, the world powers move west. ^^ Egypt, Greece, Rome, England, America. (Not very accurate, I admit but I hope you get the flow).
