Though his origin is mainly a background character as a support for my fanfiction, HB;MM, I've been somewhat interested in developing his design and mannerisms.

For those of you unaquainted with this character, his name is Albel von Rhys. He is a rather lazy Death God. He has a bad habit of smoking, occasionally writing things on his cigarettes for personal irony, and has an addiction to coffee (formerly absinthe, but such a substance was banned). Since he's a reaper, such unhealthy habits fail to phase him, and he abuses that ability.

He has a rather gruff, yet aloof personality, though when interested in something, he develops an unusual charm, if not becoming somewhat sadistic and persistant in pursuit of his targets. Though he used to delight in his occupation in the Medieval ages; the height of his popularity and the excitement, the tight bureaucratic approach at handling soul retrieval has milked all the fun out of the job. Though he appears aloof and generally unsurprised about the modern world, he takes delight and interest in irony and those who try to cheat the general ways of things (hence his vague interest in those who defy death or those influenced by supernatural beings [like those who deal with devils].) and the natural laws.

He has superior fighting skills, wielding dual handheld harvesting sickles. Acrobatic to the point of being compared to dancing, Albel's rather described as a 'show off'.

Though he is often described negatively, there is a strain of concern that he bears at times, though it is often at the rarest occasions. This certain charm is only apparent for brief moments, though one should not expect any sort of action from Albel in part of taking care of a project or maintaining a household. His occupation to fit in among humans shifts irregularly, switching frequently between "journalist", "doctor", "waiter", and "psychiatrist", though those who know him personally can easily claim that he works as a waiter at a shady bar called "Grimoire" (Records state that he truly used to be a doctor in London, but circumstances forced him to relinquish this title).

One of his arms is always sporting a bandage, which he refuses to remove. He has a large tattoo along one side of his torso, sporting his personal "logo"; a skull with three long teeth, and a fleur de lis in place of an eye. The origin behind this symbol is unclear, though Albel used to sport it on the front of his tunics in the Dark Ages. One of his 'fans' stated that it must have been made in honor of the death of his lover, who was missing an eye, and of French nobility. Albel has never admitted to such a thing as being a possibility, let alone having such a lover.
