My good friend, Kanami's Kosplays, and I decided to make gender swap costumes of the Star Trek reboot for Denver Comic Con this year.We had loads of fun and were completely surprised by the reception we received! I had my doubts about being able to pull off tall, dark, and handsome, but all things considering, I'd have to say we were a success.
People /loved/ that we also chose to include their rankings on our uniforms. I personally find it ridiculous that female officers in the reboot do not have their bands on their uniformΒ to acknowledge their positions and abilities.

haha! love it! here is my take on the classic series wraparound uniform the JJVerse uniform skant: kal-el4.deviantart.com/art/New⦠basically, what I did was change the color of the picture by using photoshop on my phone. then I made a copy of the original picture and raised the temperature of the picture to create the gold badge using my phone to raise the pic's temperature.
As for the sash belt, IΒ took a picture off ofΒ anovos' facebook page, and using my phone again; created many different colored versions of it, and rotated a copy of the gold badge for the sash and pasted it onto the sash's image.....
and here is a version where I desaturated the copy image and brightened the contrast; creating a black built in skirt so as to resemble the pants male officers wear. kal-el4.deviantart.com/art/JJVβ¦
As for the rank striping; that I copied from a picture of chris pine as kirk, and raised the picture's temperature to create the gold striping....
