What advantages does Linux hold over windows?

GNU/Linux operative systems lets you free:
- Free of charge.
- Free to make what you want with them.
- Free of TROJANS
- Free of MALWARE
- Free to learn (or crash).
- Free in general.
You might think it would be harder in principle, but, the fact is that other operative systems teach you to "click", not to "learn". What you'll experience over the first weeks with linux is more control of your computer, a bit harder, but believe me, it's harder to have the same control with Windows or MAC.

Kickass, I'll give it a shot.
Mind if I bother you with a few more questions?
If I DL that, will I be able to operate that and windows (for easy use until I fully learn the program) and does it take up a lot of room?

Yes of course!
One way for having Windows and Linux in the same computer is "Dual Booting". Here's the Ubuntu's guide: [link]
You can also google "dual booting windows linux".
About the system requirements:
- For Ubuntu: [link]
- For Mint: [link]
The linux cool features are well described by Ubuntu: [link]
(All linux distributions can have the same features.)
Finally here's a brief guide to know wich distribution is the best for you: [link]
For any other question, send me a message, or google it! I've found all my answers at forums.
Regards ^^
