Ashkit was born to NeedleStorm and CopperYell, the tiny baby brother to PouncePad. His family life is a bit.... rough to say the least. His sister adores him unconditionally, but his father is long gone and his mother hardly gives him time of day. He ignores her cold stare and offput reactions to him in favor of dotingly following after her and doing whatever she wants of him. He still loves her! He loves everybody he knows, to an extent! His sister is his favorite, though.

Apprenticeship
...To say he had a rough start would be a wild understatement. On his FIRST day as an apprentice, he had lost his tail to a rockslide during his tour of the territory. On top of that, on that same day his sibling practically disowned their parents, and their parents all but disowned Ashpaw. After that his sibling was with him a lot more often, but his parents were almost never with him at all. A rift had formed long before he was born, and his accident had only made it worse.

Positive
Ashkit cares for everyone, regardless of age. He'd try to help the meddies if he had any idea what he was doing. But he does listen when others don't want his help. He's just as happy to get out of their hair if it means they'll feel a little better. By far his second favorite pass time is listening to elder stories and repeating them. (Usually for his mom or sister, to varying effect). Usually his mom just either ignores him or snaps at him to hush, which he obliges. She probably has a headache or somethin'. As much as he rambles on, he's just as eager to listen to others go on about their day.

It's near impossible to get Ashkit to sit still when not asleep. Even when listening to elder stories, he's most likely climbing all over them or trying to play with their tails as he listens. He wants so badly to escape the camp and adventure, but he knows he'd be in huge trouble if he did. So instead he waits for his big sister to come back from patrols or hunts to tell him about the day and what she saw outside of camp. The little tom wants to know everything about the world outside, and takes note of every little (seemingly) important thing that gets mentioned.

Negative
Though he seems constantly energetic and optimistic, a big part of it is because he avoids dealing with his problems like the plague. His mom yelled at him? He pretends it didn't happen and decides to just not bother her for a bit. He also doesn't read emotions all that well, and acts sickeningly-sweet in all the wrong situations. Not only that, but he has a tendency to follow others around, not being able to tell that they don't want him around. This almost always only happens to his sister, though. Cuz' she's his favorite.

Roleplay Sample

Ashkit trotted excitedly towards his sister, following after her as she spoke to one of her friends. He didn't mind waiting his turn for when they were ready to talk to him, and was more than happy to eavesdrop on their conversation, unknowing that that's kind of a bad thing. Instead, he simply blepped and stared up at his sibling in admiration as he followed after them, scruffy tail held high.

When their conversation seemed to be taking forever, he trotted off after his next 'friend'. Or at least, he started to, until he saw his mom sneaking out of the nursery. Pupils widening, he sprinted off after her, running into her leg playfully only to be greeted with an annoyed sneer. His ears lowered, but he smiled up at her anyways.
