The Lost Prince (Alicorn Argyle AU) Related:

Disclaimer: This is based on a fanfic I'm doing with my spouse which explores Arygle's backstory based on vague fan theories about him being related to Twilight. It is not considered canon to the G5 universe.

Argyle in his diplomat sash, which he wears with a heavy burden.

In order to try and save his mentor and regent, Discord, Argyle has to fake his conformity to something called "The Effort" in order for him to study the old world to get answers about the three crystals Discord entrusted him with and to gain access to Equidae, an elitist city (Formally Canterlot in this AU) where Discord is being held prisoner.
All Scholars, historians, High Tiers of the Law and scientists need to be registered to The Effort in order to study/work in their fields. This ensures these ponies are observed as they tend to be the most likely to turn against the current world order and become Twilight Purists which is forbidden across Equestria.

Different center stripe colors mean different divisions. Grey for Scholars (Like Argyle), Black for Law and White for Science. All ponies who work for The Effort are called Diplomats, as they represent Equidae and the current world order in their sectors (Maretime Bay, Bridlewood, Zephyr Heights etc.)
