terraforms In reply to Sadiya [2005-10-27 01:21:42 +0000 UTC]

[link] <- Here's a visual walkthrough of the Highway 17 chapter of Half-Life 2 (chapter 7 of the game and my personal favorite). Be sure to peruse all the lovely screenshots, though playing the game itself is much awesomer (naturally). There are power lines, trees, and train tracks and that's why your pic reminds me of this. The whole game is realistically scenic like this.

Sadiya In reply to IggyHazard [2005-10-27 01:16:06 +0000 UTC]

wow. the scenery is crazy realistic.
great, next time i go for my walk i'll be thinking giagantic bugs are gonna come eat me.
thanx

Any time. Throughout the later parts of the chapter Sandtraps and the early parts of Gordon's siege on Nova Prospekt, you use bug bait to guide the antlions to do your bidding. It's really fun to send your legion of antlions to attack Combine tr0opers and Nova Prospekt guards.

Also, you can interact with just about everything in the gameworld. The level of detail is amazing! You can pick things up and move them (things like barrels, buckets, crates, chairs, and old rusty bicycles). After you the Gravity Gun, it becomes way to0 awesome to describe. You'll have to play it for yourself to understand the awesomeness. There are also two really fun vehicles, an air boat (fan boat with ponto0ns) and a dune buggy (which I call the do0m buggy).

Sadiya In reply to IggyHazard [2005-10-27 05:17:09 +0000 UTC]

haha i say doom buggy too.. and ultra violent rays hehe.. i dunno why

wow u're definately a fan of the game i cant even believe the amount of thought, creativity and programming that goes into these games now. its so unbelievably mind blowing.

Well, since you said that, I must show you these! -> [link] [link] S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and They Hunger: Lost Souls respectively. They Hunger: Lost Souls uses the same graphics engine as Half-Life 2 (Source).

FunFact: The original They Hunger trilogy was a mod for the original Half-Life.
