Wow- that was totally unintended, and I really didn't mean for that to happen, as I'm sure you're friend didn't. I've never seen that user or their entry. I apologize if your friend feels wronged in any way, however we must have similar imaginations. To be fair, each category in the contest had certain guidelines each entry had to adhere to, many of which would obviously appear in both of our entries. I got my idea from the fact that sloths often have moss and other small plants living in their fur. I simply translated that to an animal that happens to be particularly adept at digging and eating roots (two of the requirements)- a boar.
I don't appreciate the insinuation you're making as, like I said, I've never seen their deviation. I find you approach to bring this to my attention very rude. It was not necessary that you imply I'd copied your friend. For all I know, they copied me (though I seriously do not think this in the slightest). I'm just saying this to show you, it's all in the perspective. I'll also point out, if you'd like, that multiple species with similar attributes have been made in the past. Here are some examples:

I feel like I might have gone a little overboard there, but you seemed to think I had directly copied your friend, and I don't take well to accusations. As it so happens, some people tend to create very similar things. Again, I apologize if YOUR FRIEND feels wronged, however this was a coincidence that no one is at fault for.

I really didn't expect mine to win, honestly. There was an entry I thought had way better ideas than mine (ours?), and I was honestly surprised I won.If you really feel that poorly about it, I can give you some of the points, because, like I said, I had no idea we had submitted similar ideas.
I understand your side, as I would feel disappointed as well if yours had won and mine had not, since they are similar. One variation might have been enough to be the deciding factor. Yours were mole-like and mine were boar-like. Not that either idea is any better, but you never know what makes someone decide something. c:

You said "not cool" implying that I had copied. You might not have been intentionally, so I apologize if I mistook you, but your wording seems to relay that you thought I had directly stolen ideas. Also, uploaded doesn't necessarily mean finished. Granted, they DID finish their entry first, as mine was completed on the 11th of October. I had commissions and junk I was doing for Aywas so I forgot about the contest until the reminder update.

no offense but your friend didn't invent rodent-like short animals with things growing on it's back
even if they did, the concepts of both are completely different, none of the ideas are the same except the plants on the back (and even still, the example in this one has a shrub on it and your friends' specifically said shrubs aren't allowed in that species??)
they do slightly look similar (even though the body shape is the only shape they share) but the looks aren't what defines a species, the written specifics are
