Todd’s Journal:Monday, January 17, 2011
* Mood: Frazzled
* Listening to: My Roommate
* Reading: The Gashleycrumb Tinies (Edward Gorey)
* Watching: My Roommate (he’s on his soapbox…again)
* Playing: Solitaire
* Eating: Pringles (“Loaded Baked Potato” flavor)
* Drinking: Sprite
I had no idea computer Solitaire could make you automatically lose without making a single move. Since I had nothing else to do today, I figured I’d play the game for a little bit. It’s a relatively brainless pastime and just enough motor activity to keep me stimulated whenever Dib gets on his kooky soapbox. I swear he does this at least twice a week. At least he isn’t boring; I get a lot of ideas for short stories just listening to his ramblings. At the same time, I wish he’d take the time to remember HE is the Psychology Major, not me. I can listen, but I can’t exactly offer him any advice.
To make a long story short, he’s had something on his mind and I’m not sure how to handle it. It all started after Zim—a former classmate from Dib’s old Skool; he mentions this guy a LOT—tapped into our wireless and illegally downloaded a rather embarrassing playlist. Dib’s a little worried that the RIAA is going to come after us and sue us into bankruptcy. Then again, he’s a rather paranoid guy. Maybe he’s exaggerating. He paced the room over and over again, telling me in profuse detail what he wanted to do to Zim. I listened and continued to move digital cards on my laptop.
Then it happened: my new game was over before I could move a single card. There wasn’t a single move I could make, and the computer counted this as a loss in my statistics! I was so annoyed that I shouted at the computer and lost my temper. Looking back, it probably wasn’t the best timing in the world. This happened a little over three hours ago. I’m in bed with Shmee, reading my story for class again, and Dib’s strangely quiet.
I feel a little bad saying this, but he’s NEVER quiet.
I feel even worse admitting that it’s a pleasant change.

I tend to like the original drawing styles better then another style, but I have to say, I LOVE the way you draw Dib; he looks so awesome

Hey, thank you! I prefer the original drawing style, too, but let's face it. No one can make it look as good as Jhonen does. I wanted to try a combination of my usual style and his for that webcomic.

No problem, thank you for drawing the comic (I think every page of it was great!) I loved your style, but I also love the original style, so it's kind of like comparing kittens to cats in a weird metaphor-like way.

Why, yes, it is. This is part of a now-canceled webcomic that took place ten years after the events of Invader ZIM.

Well, I had to cancel this one because I'm actually swamped with a number of things: most importantly finishing up my last semester of college and hunting for a post-graduation job.

Happened to me, too. That's what gave me the inspiration for the comic. So far, only one of them hasn't been based off real events.

I love those moments. Unintentional coinciding conversations will happen again in one of this week's misadventures, if I can find the time to draw it out.
Oh, and the restaurant mentioned in TYL 4 happens to be where we're going for lunch.

Pho Viet correct? Works for me! As long as no zombies eat anymore Asian waiters' brains... Poor asian man...

Correct! And nah; I don't think the zombies are going to eat the waiters. I have a sneaking suspicion this place is a renovated Hardees or Burger King that became a super-tasty Vietnamese place after renovation.

East asia winning over American heart attack fast lane food again. *thumbs up* BTW, Ten does act like me. It's kinda wierd actually. And the dolly is scary as *insert colorful language of the french* that I've ever seen in my life. Way cuter when she's not moving around, or talking... or taking over brains.

I take it you liked I Feel Sick, then! I can bring Johnny the Homicidal Maniac (except for the first volume; I can't find my copy of volume 1), which I Feel Sick spun off of, to Pho Viet, too. If you liked this one, I bet you'd like the other stuff, too.
I Feel Sick is probably my fave, though. Devi and Tenna crack me up. XD

Eventually, yes, Gaz will make more than just an appearance. Gaz will actually be a relatively major character over the Summer Break.

WHAT?! O.o; The fabric of time and space will be torn apart and we will be able to divide everything by zero!!! Do you hear me: ZERO!!!! A number that amounts to nothing!!!!! *takes a breath* Okay... I'm cool now.

Heh heh heh...zero.
Nah, I've surprisingly found a way for that instinct to be rather in character. That was very difficult to do, but somehow...I've managed. You'll see what I'm talking about by Spring Break.

I think Wal*Mart and Old Navy will be the first two places to find things in that bright green color. Chances are craft stores may sell T-shirts in that shade, too. Altering the outfit to get it to look more like the actual design from the comic will require a bit of work, but not as much as you'd think.
