It's sort of a teach yourself thing, look at art, read tutorials and take baby steps. It's a lot easier to set short goals as an artist and slowly build up patience, endurance and precision, and anyone can get to whatever level they want as long as they are willing to take those baby steps. ^^

I already told you how purely awesome this picture was before but I'll say it again anyway.
The colors suit him so very well, Racing stripes and all. Totally dig the fluffy cuffs and what did I tell you? Random straps on the shoes make them look better. XD
The lighting on this is just amazing, the picture blends very well with the background and the Japanese text just topped it off. Brilliant work man.

*sigh* I always wanted to put rally stripes on the car i used to have....never did though. Hehe sorry man just makeing refrence to Nova's orange stripeing. Great original design all around. First things first, bravo on the shading. It is incredible. I cannot even find words to say how wonderful it is. You managed to do it perfectly with his spines and his fuzziness, all in all making it look natural.
I'm sorry but I just have to say this......his boots are so cool! The glowing effects on them, along with the gloves, makes it seem like he loves power. I'm not sure how I got that but that's just what I think
The racing stripe kind of style you have for his quills is a nice design, it really suits him. Speaking of his quills, I never really was one for the color combintaion of Orange and Blue but it looks really nice on him I must say. It makes me change my mind on that kind of combination.
All I can say about the mist is job well done. The fading and just the placement of the mist provides a rather mysterious outlook of Nova since after all he is revealing what he looks like for the first time.
Oh wow I've gotten this far without saying anything about the background. I'll make it quick.
To sum it all up, I love it! This type of background has always been my favorite where we see an enlargement of the main focus of the picture. It has always been a classic and you have done perfectly with it.

Thank you very much, I'm happy that you like the end result of a nights work. I wanted to start doing something special instead of making a simple character ref so the background and the designs came in, and this likely isn't the last since all my characters up to this point have boring crappy refs XD. Heres to more sleepless nights of me burning out my eyes while running on nothing but Monster.
