It's her mental instability that causes many of the other cast members not to trust her tonics. Patchouli could probably find some things for her lungs and low blood volume, but she doesn't trust the lunatic nurse half as far as she can throw a book.

Can't argue with that. I'll bet she took the hourai elixir, and it's having very odd effects on her brain. Or perhaps she uses herself as a test subject when she can't test her tonic on someone else.

Only certain people like Kaguya have a personality that allows them to handle immortality. Eirin's probably isn't one of them.

It's a pity, because at a first glace she doesn't seem all that nasty. Then she begins performing tests and harming Reisen, then she becomes pretty easy to dislike.

Kaguya's little better for allowing it. While I can see Eirin managing to keep the animal testing secret, the abuse... not so much, given that Reisen's probably a screamer.

I say it's because Kaguya's lazy as hell.

Kaguya's a true-blue neet, and Eirin's good at cleaning up the blood. If she knew it was really bad, she'd probably do something. Tewi finds Punishment Time amusing, so she's not gonna say anything. She only disobeys Reisen because she knows better.

Which means Reisen gets to be painfully punished on a regular basis, and no one does anything about it. Sad.

It's a wonder she's one of the few sane people in the cast.

Who knows, maybe someone will help her out at some point.

Not ZUN. If he won't revive the PC98 girls, he won't save Reisen or mellow Eirin out.

Not showing good sense with characters, right now. He better have something explosive planned for Touhou 13 next year.

I wouldn't mind another game like PoFV. It was a decent game.
At best, he'll come up with a completely new game. At worst, he'll make a STB 3.
I still like Aya, though...maybe because I can't really hate any of the Touhou characters...so yeah.

Aya's confident, assertive, and hot. Flaws aside, she could be a good reporter if she stopped bending the truth. The incidents on their own are crazy enough.

True. I personally think it's because she doesn't get much of a chance to interview anyone. I mean, in STB, there's never any exchange of dialogue between the characters. The person Aya's photographing just attacks her without so much as a word.

Because she's already got a backstory as a bottom feeder from PoFV.

Right, right. Although she is actually better informed about that incident than the others are.

SimirrorofShadows In reply to WatcherCCG [2010-04-25 18:00:20 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. Because of that, her info isn't always 100% accurate. Because of that, she probably has to fill in the blanks herself. This results in stories that are a bit farther from the truth than they're supposed to be, probably because Aya's got an overactive imagination.

She's over 1000 years old. She shouldn't be acting like a crazy child. What does she think she is? Freaking Rumia?

There are also implications that Eirin does worse to Reisen as part of her various "Punishment Time" disciplines. THAT is why I have problems with Eirin. She's hot, and gets points for sustaining Kaguya's happy-go-lucky lifestyle, but animal abuse makes me boil. There are certain protocols that must be followed with animal testing. I'm pretty sure Eirin's broken them all at some point.
