- Ianthe absolutely ADORES foals! Wobbly legged newborns, curious ask-a-million-questions-a-minute youngsters. She's the auntie that never grew up and will jump at ANY opportunity to just play around with children. She makes one hell of a babysitter and takes such a job (however rare) very, VERY serious!
- She loves to imitate birdsong and is quite good at it too. A lot of it comes down to her impressive front teeth, the perfect tools for sharp (and ear piercing) whistles!
- HATES alcohol although she has never been under its influence. She's observed its effects on her father as he slowly fell apart after her mother's death. She will never touch it knowingly, partially afraid that she will succumb to addiction as easily as Vincente.

At the core of Ianthe 's personality is a thirst for adventure, and perhaps a little too much energy. Every day is a potential adventure just waiting to whisk her away. Ianthe needs to travel and see new sights or she becomes easily irritated. Adventure, however small, is just in her blood.

Having grown up with hard-working individuals all around her has made Ianthe a diligent worker too. Even though attending to plants can be a boring affair, Ianthe understands how important of a position she fills and doesn't complain. Well, at least not too loudly.

Ianthe acts on impulse a lot! If a stray thought seems like an excellent idea, she will more often than not act before thinking. Despite a rule of counting to three before acting, the young pegasus still lands herself in a fair amount of trouble. To her father, it is taking a long time for Ianthe to grow into a responsible adult.

It is not uncommon for Ianthe to turn a boring job into a game for just herself or to rope others into. Typically she'll set up races to see who can collect the most plants, and on her own, she'll often spin stories to help pass time. Passing over cracked mud? OH! Don't step on those lines or you'll be dead! Dried branches and twigs scattered about? Watch out! Those are clearly poisonous snakes and THEY'RE COMING FOR YOU!

You'd think that a job as important as tending to Serora's food sources, a job handed from parent to child through generations, would make Ianthe mature faster. You know, because of the responsibilities. Ianthe never got that memo. She is in no hurry to grow up and sets a really poor example for the youngsters. She has a very limited drive to do anything outside of the usual work and will eye-roll and groan to maximum levels when asked to contribute.
Stubborn
|Unreasonably unyielding|
Ianthe will plant her dainty little rear in the dust and refuse to move if she wants to. You'll have a better chance at growing strawberries on a rock than getting her to move. She is horribly pigheaded and even if she knows she is in the wrong, she will stick with her ways for fear of losing face. Admitting her mistakes can take days, especially if she has been in a heated argument. It's best to just wait her out, she usually comes around with an apology. Usually.
HistoryPre-Group Activity
Scarlett and Vincente were made for each other, finding love in their early teens and quickly forming a young family. They produced many children, exactly as Scarlett has always wished for, and little Ianthe was the fourth child to gaze upon the stars of Hireath. She was born in the early morning light, as the bright stars were slowly overcome by the rays of the rising sun and while her plumage would later match her name, it was the brightness of her eyes that inspired it.
Already as a wobbly legged child, one could predict that Ianthe would be a handful. She would often stray from her parents' side to explore and seemed almost entirely without fear. It took her crashing into a thick growth of cacti to finally understand, and appreciate, that going slow and careful was sometimes necessary. And thankfully she eventually developed a healthy respect for the land and its flora and fauna.
As a young teenager, Ianthe was working alongside the older planters and her parents, learning the trade and taking to it like a fish to water. To her, it was a straightforward job. The care you provided the plants would roughly equal the amount of fruit and vegetables you could harvest, so a meager output usually came down to the planter. Sure enough, there were outside forces to consider as well, but this straightforward cause-and-effect way of thinking appealed greatly to Ianthe.
Fourteen years old and with few cares in the world, Ianthe would learn that nature is deadly. She'd encountered death before of course, it wasn't unknown to her. Grandmothers and grandfathers had passed away (every member of the nomadic herd was family in her eyes, blood-related or not), and there had even been a stillbirth. But not once had she witnessed the wind itself claim a life directly.
It was a sandstorm that took the nomads by surprise, hitting hard before they could reach the caverns that were their destination. Such storms had hit before, but none could recall this scale and ferocity. Vincente guided his family to safety but once they were in the shelter of a cave, he found that his wife and eldest son were missing. The storm was far too dangerous to brave again, so with bated breath, the small family waited. Six nomads were lost in that storm. Scarlett and Santiago among them and days later young Raul grew ill and passed away. It was unclear what caused Raul's illness, but he was coughing and wheezing worse and worse.
Ianthe struggled to process her sorrow. The dead were mourned, their lives were celebrated and far too soon things went back to normal. Vincente took the loss of mate and children very hard. He began drinking excessively at every opportunity, going as far as to scavenge fermented fruit to get some release from the pain. On a daily basis, he functioned fairly well, but the instances where his children had to take over his work because he was curled up and hung over became more and more frequent. There wasn't time for Ianthe to grieve properly and the few times she tried to talk to her father about it, she was shut down with 'it's all in the past now, we shouldn't dwell on it'. So Ianthe learned to mask her pain, buried it deep and moved on as best she could,
Growing older, Ianthe became more and more engulfed in her own fantasies and stories, preferring the company of playful children and energetic teenagers such as herself. While she stuck with her job she often ended up daydreaming about something more, something better! The Furies became her new idols and the small ache in her chest began to grow as she longed, desperately, for something more in life. She told herself it was an adventure and a need to see all the wonders of Hireath because as much as she loved Sedo and her people, something bitter had slipped into her life after that deadly sandstorm.

Chapter Three: (Serora Plot 306: Cloak and Dagger and Serora Plot 303: Dark Secret )
- Ianthe finds herself happily joining a group of Seroroans who find Ishmael's sneaking around to be somewhat disturbing. The young pegasus just wants some action, bored out of her mind as she is.
- Ianthe happily blabbers about the possibility of old 'fish face' hiding monsters in the dark cavern, unaware of how close she is to the truth.
- When finally a KIRIN of all things springs from the darkness, Ianthe finds herself beyond words and quite frankly scared as hell! She lets the shaman Jack take the point and remains clam-shut silent until far away from the monster.
Chapter Four: (Serora Plot 407: Gathering Resources )
- In the early morning hours, Ianthe sets out with a group of fellow Serorans, to locate ore which the herd can use in the upcoming war. Ianthe maintains a positive outlook, convincing herself that the whole thing will soon blow over, and the war will be canceled.
- After much wandering the group discovers the tell-tale sign of ore beneath the earth: A black tipped succulent. Once one has been spotted, they seem to pop up all over the place.
- The missing is a success!
Chapter Five:

Chapter Six: ( Serora 601: United )
- Safe in the Oasis, Ianthe tries to pass time playing with the kids and keeping her thoughts away from war. She has a brother out there, risking his life, and Ianthe feels helpless and grounded.
- As a messenger brings a warning and a fight breaks out, Ianthe keeps a relative distance, trying to shield Noatak from the violence. Ayla's weapon is revealed to be able to save them, but only by sealing them all inside the Oasis. Ianthe doubts but she is willing to try his crazy idea.
- Somehow the combined will of the equines awaken the weapon and the Oasis is Sealed tight. While it keeps them safe from Aodh's army, it also keeps them trapped and Ianthe soon begins to wonder if giving up freedom was the right choice all along. Will she be forever stuck inside the near-reflective walls?
Post Chapter Six:
- The restrictions laid upon the flighty pegasus begin to wear her down. Just knowing that there is nowhere to go, nowhere new to fly to has her running circles. She grows sullen, snappy and very prone to anxiety attacks.
Chapter Seven: (Serora 702: Games )
- Tasked with foal sitting is better than nothing, and Ianthe is glad to have familiar faces on the job with her. Cheerful banter and the beginning of storytime is disturbed by odd events.
- Words are thrown back at the ground as a parrot would, but there are no birds around. Instead an Echo is discovered, to everybody's surprise.

Hey would Ianthe possibly be open to some past connections? I got an important part in my upcoming girl's, Cherche, history! I needed a young love interest that didn't work out most likely because the two were too dumb and immature to figure out their problems. Typical first love story, I suppose.
I know it ended on a bad note. Also that it was Cherche's fault because of her inability to drop her toxic tendencies so she broke things off because she felt that her partner would be better off trying to find happiness with someone else. A prue reason, sure. She loved her too much to selfishly keep her. Cherche is fully aware she isn't a good soul.

To rub things in even further I want Cherche to get a tattoo that represents Ianthe in some way. She definitely got it when they were still together but now it's a constant reminder of her first love. The one she feels she can never be good enough for. Ianthe is probably a big reason why Cher wants so desperately to be a good person--er horse.

I was thinking her name too! It's cliche but so is Cherche in a lot of ways. It's funny. Like if Ianthe ever sees it on Cher, it is also a haunting reminder to her in a different way.
I'd love for there to still be feelings with both parties. Cherche is still very much in love with Ianthe, definitely. But she still needs to be saved from herself. Ianthe might be able to help or watch it slowly take hold until it's too late. Only time is going to tell :,>
