Description At around midnight, I was in a sour mood. So I figured I'd cheer myself up with a bit of art, which I haven't had as much time for as I would like. It was nice to work the rust out a tad.

I might do an actual background with this time permitting, but who knows!

Yay! I like the choice of hair color too, it's what I pictured. Even though it was light in the flashbacks, it wasn't necessarily the same white it is now.

Yeah, I've seen different thoughts on what the color should be, but I just went with my own take . Glad you liked it!

Whoa, long time no talk, Seattle! I've been alright, could be better, but that's how it goes. How have you been? (Also, thanks for the kind words)

I know man, it's been ages. I have to admit, with the big bag o crazy things have been for the last few months, I look back on the time spent with you an Sali and over on /fic/ with a certain nostalgia. Things aren't likely to be lookin' up for some time I'm afraid, so pleasant memories are a nice thing to carry.

What all have you been up to? I checked in on Sali's compendium, and your old story doc, but neither was occupied. If there's a new doc you two frequent, you should shoot me the link. Canna say how much time I'd have to attend with any frequency, but still, it'd be good to see you two again.

I've actually been writing, so many of my notes are in this beaten up journal of mine. Sali has been doing a lot of livestreams.

It's a long shot, but is there anyway that we could help out? I've still got AIM if you still use it.

Writing eh? Exclusively pony, or you working a diversity of genre an style? In either case, I'd love to see the synopsis of your main, current project.

Help out? Ummm... frankly, get involved mate. This is... well, your future, and that of every person you care about, that's on the line here. You're a brilliant guy Sage, I'd hate to see you just truck about pursuing a career as your most public involvement, not to mention the fact that whoever's organizing your area would benefit greatly from your analysis and creativity. Of that I've no doubt. Not to mention, it's one hell of an adventure, heh.

It's been pony on the nonexistent bits of free time I have.

On that other note, I wonder. I give buy lunch for folks I meet on the street and donate to Red Cross, but I've got a friend that's in the Peace Corps; she does a lot of good first hand, and sometimes I wonder if I'll get the chance to do something like that. I like tutoring though. Have you been involved in any projects back on the west coast? (Man I miss it there sometimes.

I'd like to check it out, if you'd let me.

I really think you should go for it mate. It's so rare that we meet anyone that can actually "make a living" doing something actually worthwhile- pretty hard to do when menial, soulless work in the service sector constitutes 80+% of America's jobs. Not much fulfillment to be found working at Walmart, yknow? Such a fucking waste of human potential.

Heh, I've been involved in a few things, yeah, you could say that. I'm currently working on community and organization outreach, getting declarations denouncing the absurdity of corporate person-hood through city and state councils, planning for new encampments of Occupations in the spring, structuring inter-state communications, helping to set up free community clinics, and... well, frankly, a few things I just can't really talk about online. It's an exceptionally abhorrent state of things when doing things for the common good stray into illegal territory. Just illustrates the severity of our situation, really.
OH, and I offered to help coordinate the Everfree Convention being held here in August. That should be fun, if I can swing time for it.

I would appreciate that; I could use some legitimate feedback and the Study has shown itself to be shit when it comes to that. I'll note you.

It sounds like you're doing amazing, passionate work. How much are corporate interests dominating policy in your area and what kind? Back in NV it was mining and casinos. If somebody with a conflict is allowed to make decisions between the public welfare and their own pecuniary interests, that's a pretty friggin' violation of ethics (but then again, as if it weren't happening all the time already, the SOPA issue being a good example). When you say encampments, one thing comes to mind but I might be off; what are you referring to? As for the other stuff well... I trust your morality.

Also, coordinating cons on top of it all, god damn you're busy!

I feel like an asshole for how long it takes between replies.

Corp interests are a pervasive, insidious animal. Their influences ranges from the outright to the subtle, and is everywhere from politics to policy.

>encampments
I mean the physical tent occupations. Really more of a symbol than anything at this point, but one that is not likely to go away, as it directly relates to how many millions of homeless people we have in the richest country in the world.

Now... bit off topic... Um... Okay, I know I've always kinda had a select readership (read, not many) for Divergence, but... I've always hoped that somebody would run with a scene they found poignant and do something epic with it. So I'm curious, would you be open to maybe commission? Your skills are damned impressive, and yeah. Just wondering.

We had a tent city back in Reno as well. That people are in that situation is terrible enough, but the fact that there are moves to remove them goes beyond some platitude like 'adding insult to injury'; it is just cruel.

As for the image, let's note about it.
