Description
This was an old drawing of Phobos I had lying around way before his HA application. It was solely done to figure out the layout of his outfit and his 'claws' which was an idea I had been toying with off and on.

Phobos' name means 'fear', and that's what I was aiming for. Something really creepy that'd probably end up being a nightmare creation for a kid.

Originally before HA, Phobos could become one with shadows and travel that way. I scrapped that because I thought it was overpowering him a bit. Plus it unintentionally sounded like a bad rip off of someone else's character and I wanted to avoid that.

His 'claws' aren't really claws. Nor are they fabric. In making Phobos, the two brother's used a lot of dark magic and somehow created a sort of 'generator' for it without knowing. So Phobos is constantly generating/releasing dark magic.

While normally his hands just look like fabric, he is capable of slowly converting it to dark magic which allows him to extend them out however he wishes. In theory, when he does form his claws he can create numerous joints and bend them any direction he wishes, turn them into a whip with him fully capable of moving every section, extend them to unbelievable lengths, or even, yes, combine them with the shadows themselves.

The whisps at the end of his clothing move because of the dark magic as well. They can function the same as his claws. And be an extra set of hands : D

OTL I fail so bad with drawing his claws...go figure the one behind the speech bubble looks better than the one showing. And even though this started out as a drawing to figure out his clothes it ended up being a drawing to figure out if I could draw a steady gradient from back to white without abusing a blending stump. lawl
