Description
Dimensions - 20x24 inchesMedia - Oil
Support - .75 inch thick gallery wrapped canvas, staples on the reverse. Sides painted black.
Date - 6/2008
This painting in thick oil applied with a palette knife depicts a nude man and woman in a tender embrace.
This piece is comprised of several layers of thick paint creating an almost 3 dimensional appearance - a truly unique and one of a kind piece of artwork! It would be a vibrant and sophisticated piece to add to any fine art collection, or the perfect stand out work of art to start one!
The entire piece was created by "tapping" the palette knife to the surface thousands of times over to create a complete continuous texture over the canvas surface. Only a knife and pure paint was used, no brushes, mineral spirits, or medium. Just knife and paint. As pure as the scene depicted....
This piece is signed and dated on the front and back of the painting. The staple free sides have been painted so there is no need for framing, but you can of course if you like

The effect is incredible - and importantly it works for the painting too, it really adds an emotional warmth and 'fuzziness' to what it's portraying. It's as if had you painted the two characters only moments previously in the situation, the lines would be harder and darker.
