Description
11x14" oil on gallery wrapped canvas 1/2005Thoughts deep within the soul, look into one's self to the core where honesty is the life line of being. What is it that is seen? Memories, chance meetings, opportunities lost, serendipitous situations the heart and mind has dwelled upon for far too long? Or is it a blur of color and emotion that invades and tells us of who we really are....

WOW yuo're work is simply amazing so much emotion eneergy and purpose is in youre paitnings. YOu are a genius at work. The whole painting just ives me the feeling of being lost of thought and being lost in youre thoughts and not knowing how to get back from the dark hole of depression.... Yet we all are naked to ourselves we all lay ourselves and rip ourselves bare we are our own worst enemies. Amazing work any way ^^

Very beautiful piece. The colours together with the composition works so well.
Very deep..
And the fact that it's possible to interpret on this in different ways, makes it even bigger.
Great work!

This gallery has some really good stuff! this piece grabbed my attention because the colour is so aquarel-transluscent/soft and oils-rich at the same time. If that makes any sense at all

Wow. That is friggin cool. I always was drawn to field painting. This one's cool though because it has a figure in it. Out of curiosity, do you like Rothko?

I LOVE ROTHKO!!! And de Kooning too, all of the Abstract Expressionists really, I have been drawn to their work for some time now.

This reminds me of this one time I was at a nude beach.
I'm not going to explain the circumstances, or what transpired, but for that fact alone I will fave.
Also, I love how well you're able to capture the female form. The slender aspect of the leg in the distance I've seen you do a hundred times and yet it never gets old, because of the purity of it all. Keep it up, and for the love of God, I love your art as much I do you.

You're the second person to make the reference to the beach, which is something that came over me at the time as well - a beach late at night, looking off into the distance at a horizon undefinable.
A nude beach no less...should I ask? LOL. Must have been a good experiance though
Thanks so much for the stellar comments too. Yes, the icon of the woman walking in the distance has been a subject I have taken too like Susan Rothenburg did with her horses. I guess if it ever feels stale I will retire it, but that hasn't happened yet - I do feel like she has so many places yet to walk to lol.
I have to check out your work...I have pics to take today of more of my newest work as I have a portfolio to send to a NYC gallery rep friend of mine who wants to show my newest to her clientele and add me to her roster of artists (yay!!!) but I promise, after that is all taken care of, I will be to your gallery doing some much needed reading
Love ya too sweets.

Thank you, for a while all I did was work with warm colors -- reds, oranges, yellows -- it was time to move away from it for a bit and create a different mood. I love the feeling of this piece and miss it very much. It was sold to a patron of mine who has bought about 10 others so I know it's in a good place
I'm glad you feel my idea was conveyed in a powerful way through the use of colors, thank you for your comments!

Yes, it was not done with a palette knife I hate brushes truth be told, so this one I applied the paint with brushes and actually blended it with paper towels. The woman though was painted with a brush. I was so drawn to the eery glowing green of her body and actually surprised myself with the precise rendering of the figure - I actually had this notion for a while that the form was just lifting out of the paint when I created it with a knife and thought, if I ever tried doing it with a brush, it would look like complete ass lol...I was proud and a bit shocked when I saw that was not the case. This piece honestly made me feel better and more confident about my capabilities to render the female form - a confidence I have continued to carry through to newer, more daring works with the body as a subject
I miss this piece, it was sold right away. I'm glad you like it hun, thanks for the comments!

Thank you - this piece is a bit older but represents a direction I have taken away from the palette knife, atleast for the time being. I know I've been naughty, haven't iploaded anything in over a month but I have 13 new works just itchin to be photographed and will be getting most of those up soon
Thanks for your comments, glad you like the piece!
