Description
The moon is too bright, has anyone an idea how to fix?Right now, it's just camera adjustment, no Photoshop, Gimp etc.

simply the exposure ist much to long. There is no way to fix it well. For the moon 1/100 to 1/150 sec are often enough.

I would use an advance photo editor. There is a freeware one out there called Photo Pos Pro. It will allow you to select only that area (has a magic wand color selector) then you can try many different effects such as gamma, brightness, contrast, etc. adjustments to it to get the right effect! if your interested here is a link to it: [link]
PS:
Great photo still!

I already have an advanced editor (Gimp). It's no problem to select only the moon, but somehow it does not work just darkening the mooen.
But I'll try your tool,
thank you very much

I found that out too. Darkening is not enough you must grey scale, gamma correct it, or lower tjhe contrast down quite a bit. In fact you can layer an actual better quality full moon image from another source in its place! If you have branches that cover the moon crop a section of your photo that effects the moon then make transparent everything but the branches, layer your moon in place then layer the branches on top of it. It will look great!

I have heard that Adobe Lightroom has tools that might help this but since I already own Photoshop and just upgraded, I have not the money to buy it yet.
I assume you were shooting in night mode on a tripod - yes?

Yes, I used a tripod, but the adjustment was made manually

You need a better photographer than I am
In my photography class we used night setting and then tweaked it.

OK, but how did you tweak it? I only use Gimp
