IMPORTANT!First off, who would be interested in me drawing the three Golden Goddesses? Leave a comment if you think I should. I wanna see if it is worth me drawing them XD
A picture of Saria is to follow soon, but I'll probably update the next few pages of Apocalyptus first!
So yeah, this is Ralis, prince of the Zora tribe in Twilight Princess. Took me forever to complete I think. I tried to brighten him up colourwise in comparison to his actual shading. Make him seem exotic.
Now before I go ramble on about something very important to me, I wanna hand you all this really amazing link!
[link]
It's the most inspirational and amazing Legend of Zelda Cosplay I've ever seen!!!
I was checking my deviations on dA when I saw an amazing LoZ fan art and this person placed a link to that gallery in their artist's comment, and yes, I do read every single artist comment in comparison to other people!!! It was so amazing to see that I felt extremely inspired to, I don't know why, but draw a fanart of the Zora, also one of Saria as you would've guessed.
This reminded me just how fantastic LoZ is! So here comes my rambling. If you don't wanna read it, I don't mind, but it's important for me.
To all video-gamers out there, to all people who think they've seen or heard the best story ever, to those who call themselves hardcore and especially, to those you think LoZ sucks, but have never actually played or looked at it properly
You don't know how much you miss out. You think you're a master of video games? I bet you you'd fail miserably if you've never played Zelda before. It's not a simple game, no, it demands strategic thinking, solving riddles, reading between the lines, patience, attention, courage, wisdom, good observation and dedication. Zelda games are no short games, they take weeks to complete, and only so short if you intend playing it 24/7.
But to add to this amazing game-play which has everything a player would want in it: horror, comedy, love, friendship, thrilling suspension, happy moments, sad moments, adventure and action filled moments, simply every genre there is; it also has the most amazing storyline ever. There is so much imagination going into this series of games: tonnes of complex, individual races with their own culture and background and many 1000 years of ancient history in total. All the games interlink with each other, one's mystery is solved in another, and further questions arise which gets anyone who plays it completely hooked.
There are so many out there who only play video games because of good HD graphics. Tell you what guys, those games often times, not always, SUCK! I mean, look at today's modern cinema with all the 3D crap: the graphics are amazing, but the movies are nearly ALL completely boring crap (The Avengers is a big exception here! One of those breathtakingly cool movies WITH good graphics!)
When I look out for a game, I don't care if the graphics are amazing, I look out for the gameplay and storyline, they come first, they make a game to what it is. I mean COME ON! Ocarina of Time has been remade for the DS but the graphics are pretty much the same: still it is probably THE MOST popular game in the world, and if not, it is definitely in the top 5! It caused a massive revolution in the game market and people now want further games of Zelda remade, simply because the N64 and older systems aren't available to all men!
So to those who say "LoZ sucks because it doesn't have good graphics or whatever shitty excuse is common" I can only say: have you ever played it? Have you SERIOUSLY ever played it? Looked at it properly? Or have you never bothered, and just pretend you know shit all? Or failed miserably because it was too hard; many people who said "I don't like LoZ" actually tell me afterwards "to be honest, I never got to play it properly, it was too hard for me." All in all: they're not good at video games enough to handle LoZ. So yeah, before you criticise it: play it. I promise you, you'll change your mind. If not, then by God, you've not played it properly.
I really wanna become a concept artist for video games one day, I hope I can achieve it. It is the reason I draw so much on photoshop and momentarily concentrate on fan art in order to learn from the pros'. LoZ has been with me since childhood, the first game I ever played was OoT. It is the reason I draw at all in life, and the biggest inspiration I've ever had.
So yeah, here my rambling finishes, and to all of those who actually bothered reading this: thanks! It is wonderful to know the world is not only filled with ignorant people. You are more than welcome to give your opinion, it's very appreciated.

Wii graphics are AMAZINGNESS! And I saw the graphics potential for the Wii U and I was like Because this is what Link could look like if they were to follow the graphics style of TP in Wii U. However, they said they're gonna stick with SS which I also like too. ^^ Why they made him really tan, I will never know...

I know right!!! I saw the trailer for the potential zelda and I was just like O___O gaping my eyes out, shouting around, "OMG THIS IS AMAAZIIING!!!" XD My dad promised he'd get me the wii u, i'd go gaga if he did.
They said they wanna make a REALLY detailed zelda which is supposed to be released 2014 just for the heck of it...
but SS is brill! I love the combined graphics of toon link games and zelda and such, it gives it this fantastical touch which makes it evident that it's a fantasy world, but that just causes it to be the more appealing!

That's why I love it! I also loved the graphics in TP but the graphics in SS really give it a fantasy feel. I mean, and . What looks more fantasy like?
And I heard they don't wanna make it just for the heck of it. Apparently, SS was just the opening and the next one is gonna be the main event!

I know! SS looks awesomeness pure! Oh I watched it in an interview and read it in an article by Shigeru Miyamoto, that they wanna show the people that they can make proper freaking realistic stuff, because pathetic companies such as Sony claim they can't. But that's not the reason they don't do it, it's because they don't give a shit about graphics, they care about the gameplay and story mainly, which is why Nintendo is so super awesome!!!
Omg that would be super cool! A game going EVEN further back to where Zelda was actually still Hylia would be great as well. And how Demise got to be who he is.

I know! I mean, the graphics are still great but, in the end, in games like this, the storyline is what matters! But I actually wanna see them attempt to get rid of Demise's curse in a later game. What I thought would be awesome is if they had a full out final war if they were to ever end the storyline somewhere. I think that would be a nice closure but I don't want it to end yet!

Saidorak In reply to ShougaTouki [2012-10-17 22:42:09 +0000 UTC]
Well, Miyamoto-san said himself (again, in an interview, I read a lot of them ) That "As long as people keep on playing Zelda, we will keep on producing new Zelda games" a closure would kind of make things harder XD I guess one day there might be a closure when new things will develop and stuff...but until then it's a looong time, and Zelda could always end up being a never-ending story XD
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ShougaTouki In reply to Saidorak [2012-10-17 22:58:39 +0000 UTC]
It could be called "The New Never-Ending Story"! XD But here's the thing. They would make a closure but still create prequels and stuff. Though, that still would be kinda hard. Idk, they should at least incorporate the curse into the next game. XD

Saidorak In reply to ShougaTouki [2012-10-18 10:22:41 +0000 UTC]
Haha, that would kick ass!! XD Well, they could always make an "open ending" - leave it to the player to decide, and if necessary, always able to get back to it ^^ I think the curse is pretty much in every game XD they just have to develop it more and explain more stuff, that's what makes every game thrilling. It's only ever since SS I understand the Kumulas from TP XD
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ShougaTouki In reply to Saidorak [2012-10-18 20:40:43 +0000 UTC]
Ikr! That WOULD be amazing! But yeah, the curse is evident in all of them but one where their descendants later on down the line learn about it and start at their attempt to get rid of it. ^^ And what are the Kumulas?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Saidorak In reply to ShougaTouki [2012-10-18 21:47:20 +0000 UTC]
Pretty much yeah! XD Hmmm, yeah, I do think they know about it don't they, but for it to be clarified would be cool
I don't know if you name them the same in English, I don't know it in english, but kumulanian appear in TP, they're those chicken creatures, and now if I remember right, the historian guy in TP says that the kumulanians helped the hylians build hyrule in exchange for their island in the sky. I was confused at first, but in SS they WERE on an island in the skies, so hence it makes sense. It explains how the humans returned to hyrule or rather to create hyrule and stuff XD

Oh, I know what you're talking about! In English, they're called the Oocca (if I spelled that right...). The chicken things that attack you if you hit them repeatedly are called Cuccos. ^^

Saidorak In reply to ShougaTouki [2012-10-18 23:40:34 +0000 UTC]
Aaah oocca you call em XD haha quite funny. Thing is in the game I play for example in SS Groose is called "Bado" ^^ which is also his original name I found out XD although groose sounds funnier Uurgh always these name changes making things complicated.
Yes true the chickens are called cuccos XD

ShougaTouki In reply to Saidorak [2012-10-19 02:09:01 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I heard that somewhere. ^^ But have you noticed that all their english names are based off of bird's names? I mean, you have Fledge (fledgeling), Pipit (already the name of a kind of bird), Karane (crane), Groose (either goose or grouse or a combo of the 2. XD) and a lotta other names. Are any other names different? Is... say, Ghirahim's name the same?

Yes, if you're a freak like me you'll be whizzing through Zeldapedia every so often XD That was their intention: the names are based on birds, even in the original japanese ^^ Ghirahims isn't really, because he isn't a skyloftian. And Zelda and Link of course keep their original name. Pipit in the Japanese is called Cuco XD

I'm a freak like you! XD But I'm not on the internet other than sites for school and dA. But Pipit's makes sense because it sounds like Cucco. ^_^ Oh, I have a question if you know the original names for characters in Japanese! I'm drawing a picture of Colin and what's his name in Japanese?

He is. But at least he's not like Cawlin... That kid annoys me so much! He tried to ruin the PipitxKarane pairing! I was yelling at the screen when he wanted to give that love letter to Karane. I was like, "No! You don't get her! Karane is supposed to be with Pipit!" Then Pipit said he loved Karane and I calmed down. XD

No, his "I will kill you if you don't let go of my Zelda" face when Ghirahim kidnapped Zelda and knocked him, Groose, and Impa unconscious right before the horde battle? Dude, I actually was freaking out when he made that face! You could see both of his left canines AND some of his gums because he was so mad. Plus, there were very clearly defined wrinkles on the bridge of his nose and between his eyes. Lesson learned. Never mess with Link or he will kill you. If I had a reference of that, I would SOOOO draw that!

ShougaTouki In reply to Saidorak [2012-10-22 21:45:24 +0000 UTC]
How would they see each other again? They didn't show her after that scene! I wonder... Is Nintendo thinking of bringing her back?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Saidorak In reply to ShougaTouki [2012-10-22 22:22:29 +0000 UTC]
But Fi IS the mastersword XD Forgot? When she says "I hope we will see each other again" it is an indirect indication to Ocarina of Time and all the other games. Because even though they are all different Links, the mastersword is always the same one ^^ it's just that Fi doesn't "come out" like in SS.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ShougaTouki In reply to Saidorak [2012-10-22 22:28:38 +0000 UTC]
Oh... XD Yeah, didn't think about that one! = Fi. But then if Ghirahim is like Fi in that sense, what would Demise's sword be called? Or did they ever say the name?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Saidorak In reply to ShougaTouki [2012-10-22 22:38:46 +0000 UTC]
Well, no they never gave Demise's sword a name, but queries have arisen because it has the Triforce crested into it, which tells us there might be another story behind Demise and his sword XD everything's open.

Me neither XD I tried to think of something. He must be someone good gone bad, and having a sword with the triforce crest, just like the mastersword, gives the impression he was a hero himself or something XD idk

ShougaTouki In reply to Saidorak [2012-10-23 00:23:06 +0000 UTC]
O.o What... What if he was the Hero before SS Link that was talked about in the legend?! If that's true... Wait, no. The legend said that Hylia and the Hero of Time worked together to seal Demise away. It couldn't be him...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Saidorak In reply to ShougaTouki [2012-10-23 00:24:41 +0000 UTC]
I didn't mean THAT hero, I'm talking even further in the past. There is also the given hints that Link's ancestors might have been gods XD who knows.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ShougaTouki In reply to Saidorak [2012-10-23 00:31:27 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that might be true... I mean, they did talk about how royal Hylian blood flowed through Link's veins in TP. And since TP Link is the descendant of SS Link... Btw, if SS Link is the ancestor for all the other Links in the series, who did SS Link get together with? Because if he got together with Zelda, that means that him getting together with the later Zeldas would be like being with a cousin. But maybe it's far enough down the line that it's not weird anymore? It's hurting my head!!!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Saidorak In reply to ShougaTouki [2012-10-23 11:27:24 +0000 UTC]
I can explain that easily to you. Link and Zelda in SS were indeed a couple, as indicated. They had kids, but between each time that a new hero is born, about 1000 years pass. You can imagine, that by then, they are well distant related that they count as not being related at all.
For example in Wind Waker, Link has a little sister. The bird creature kidnaps the sister mistaking her to be Zelda: you get my drift? XD They always kinda "find their way back to each other"

ShougaTouki In reply to Saidorak [2012-10-23 20:44:13 +0000 UTC]
1000 years?! That means theres about a 10000 year difference between SS and ST! O.o

Saidorak In reply to ShougaTouki [2012-10-24 11:44:37 +0000 UTC]
Well it hasn't been written in stone but indications have always been given with a 1000 year difference, which SS kinda strengthened, because it always seems to take 1000 years before the demise returns ^^

Well, not for some of them. XD Oot to MM is only about 6 months and the same time span goes for WW to PH. But I think that ST is only 100 years after PH. And you would think that after 10000 years, they'd want to become more modern (like with technology and stuff?) But all they came out with in that time... was a camera. XD
