'Unknown to Earthlings, there was indeed life in outerspace, and they were at war. The Evil Solar Empire, alied with Mars, Mercury, Uranus, Pluto, and Jupiter, and The Good Lunar Kingdom, alied with Venus, Neptune, and Saturn.
In order to protect his infent daughter Kaguya, King Millenious sent her into the unaffected Earth. However, he was killed by the Emperor Setyo.
... Earth, 1983, fourteen year old Himeko sees a spaceship in the sky and follows it to a park, were it crashes. Himeko finds the diying pilot, who gives her a locket with a moon on it. When aliens go to the crashing sight, Himeko transforms into Moon Protector Kaguya-Hime.'
