I'm probably so rusty by now. My problem is that I can't hold together a plan I'm happy with. Its why I don't have any really solid characters and why my documents folder is full of half-finished plans that lead nowhere. Shame, because I want to write something... I just can't settle on one idea I like long enough. My problem with rping though is that I just got fed up of all the crappy sues. Why should I bother when clearly nobody else does. -_- It was fine back in the day but without people who actually care about what they write the thing sucks.

The worst thing (A pair of words I through around a bit too much.) is that they are all the same. Moronic backstories, "Oh my parents were murdered before my eyes then I was on the run for fours years before being taken in by my abusive uncle who tried to kill me". The overpowered abilities chosen to fulfill some power fantasy rather then any story telling oppurtunities "An' I can turn into a dragon form an' control the elements (Af if there was actually some connection between controlling water and flames.) an' if I'm really pissed off I can go into uber-hyper-super-sue mode". Not to meantion the painful personalities, "OCDS,ANNOREXIC,SPLIT PERSONALITY! MY CHAR R INTERESTING LOL! The're a loner who has who doesn't trust easily, but is the best friend ever, totally. They don't like to fight but will use their mighty sue powers to eradicate evil, which happens to be anyone I don't like, 'cause my character is always righteous and if they attack you, u obv deserve it lol."

Yes, exactly (my fanfic character can also do those things too btw). If the powers have a feasable link I can understand, that okay (I don't really like characters with more that one power but if they're weaker powers it's sometimes okay) but if it's say, flying and can shoot fireballs... just WHAT.
Do you know any of those? Other than yourself you can't comission yourself a new series that would break all kind of universal laws.

It depresses me when people don't understand what makes a good character... wheter its because they see powers as more important then personality... or because they see a hero having negative traits as a bad thing. I hate it when I see people complaining that Rainbow Dash is a bad character just because she's a show-off/egotistical and I'm not even a RD fanboy. Same goes for anyone who dares suggest Rarity is a poor character for her vainity.

Yep, that's just stupid. I also hate it when people give their character a power then stretch its abilities to a stupid level. A key example being people using "power nullifier" as an excuse to immune to the EFFECTS of other powers.

Rarity isn't shallow. D: I can only assume people argue that based on her crush on Blueblood, but that very point is destroyed by the fact that upon realising how big a jerk he is, puts him in his place. Rather epically so.
Neither is she selfish... How can you call her selfish after she spends weeks making Gala dresses, with no reward, for the other five? (And then changes them after they all react like spoilt brats, and then back to the original design.)
I think what people forget that is although Rarity has her moments of greed (Dragonshy being the example that comes to mind, she tried to swindle the dragon out of his treasure.) pretty much all the mane six have MOMENTS that contradict their own element. Point is, representing generosity DOESN'T mean you aren't allowed to have things for yourself too.

I don't know about that, Applejack could give her pretty tough competition for generosity seeing as she spends so much time doing things for other people. Generosity is just as much doing things for other people as it is giving them stuff.
Point is we COULD argue over who deserves which element till the cows come home, but seeing as they all exhibit parts of all the elements to some degree it really doesn't matter.
I have seen people try to use that to slander Rarity's name... but yes, you're right. She never FORCED spike to give it to her, in fact she never even asked for it. *watches clip* I mean sure she quite clearly gives away she wants it she doesn't expect Spike to give it to her and is even surprised when he does. (At least that's what it looks like to me.)
