I don't know what to say about Hiei other that he's awesome! He's so hard to understand. Once upon a time he was all cold-hearted, but after meeting Yusuke, he tries to act cold when deep down inside he's really a softie! For this picture, I just wanted to draw that soft side of him that he hides within himself emerging out in the form of wings. But don't expect him to hug you or anything; don't push your luck. He's STILL Hiei.

As to why he's shirtless...I have this thing for buff chests (if you haven't figured that out by now from most of my art), but also it's something sexy about showing off a guy's body who constantly keeps it covered. Usually, he only goes shirtless when he's in a tough battle and I guess the robes get in the way. I also wanted to give him a blue scarf instead of the white one that he usually wears.
