Description
Indeed, I was watching the Olympics (figure skating...duh) and I had just remembered that I had not drawn any of my characters ice skating. Thus this picture was born. She's positioned (hopefully I'm right; I'm no expert) to jump in the air and do a 360. As you can tell, her facial expression shows that she's not as confident as she should be. Don't worry, though; this is just practice.Related content

Ahhh, this picture has a cute, whimsical look about it. I love it. I also love the effect you've done. I've been trying to do something similar to that without having to resort to black outlines, how did you do it?

I used to make black outlines, but I remember my figure drawing teacher scolding me for making such solid lines (I can't help it; I draw cartoons and anime, for crying out loud!! ) So, after looking at this picture... Ranma and Akane , I noticed that the outlines were very faint. It's because they artist used a darker version for the outline of the color that's actually used to do the coloring. I.E., if you use 'light peach' to color flesh, use 'peach' (regular; it's a little darker) to outline and make shadow with.

Hmmm, Im surprised I never thought it before. I'll have to try it. Biggest problem for me is that I draw my art in blue first before making any final decision, and I don't have a lightbox to transfer.
But I'll have to try it out now. That sounds very ingenious
