Description (+Full View) Why three Worlds on one Earth?

As long as we allow Nationalism to divide us, Earth will continue to be ruled by the State. We must unite as one, because we are truly and purely one family. We are not here to own space on this planet. We are here to share the space of this planet. As Fundamentalist religion, so also Nationalism teaches us to hate. Both ideologies, the former and latter are all to eager to train us to kill; whether physically or spiritually. It is not humanities tolerant who destroy, but the intolerant; those who hate because others do not mirror their internal treachery.

-js. lucius

=======================================

“Nationalism is our form of incest, is our idolatry, is our insanity. ”Patriotism” is its cult. It should hardly be necessary to say, that by ”patriotism” I mean that attitude which puts the own nation above humanity, above the principles of truth and justice; not the loving interest in one’s own nation, which is the concern with the nation’s spiritual as much as with its material welfare, never with its power over other nations. Just as love for one individual which excludes the love for others is not love, love for one’s country which is not part of one’s love for humanity is not love, but idolatrous worship.”

—Erich Fromm

“Patriotism…for rulers is nothing else than a tool for achieving their power-hungry and money-hungry goals, and for the ruled it means renouncing their human dignity, reason, conscience, and slavish submission to those in power…Patriotism is slavery.”

—Leo Tolstoy, Christianity and Patriotism

“It is not easy to see how the more extreme forms of nationalism can long survive when men have seen the Earth in its true perspective as a single small globe against the stars.”

—Arthur C. Clarke

“Patriotism is the willingness to kill and be killed for trivial reasons.”

—Bertrand Russell

One love
One blood
One life
You got to do what you should
One life
With each other
Sisters
Brothers
One life
But we're not the same
We get to
Carry each other
Carry each other

One...life

—U2, One

=======================================

First World: the United States and its allies.
Second World: the Soviet Union and its allies.
Third World: Non-aligned and neutral countries.

This was based off the Wiki Cold War era map. I understand the Wiki map misprinted a little, however, I will leave this map as it it. The point being made is how Patriotism to the State divides us. We are all one! Wiki Link

even during cold war, there were neutral countries in western europe, like switzerland, austria, and surely some in the north too.

During cold war, russians had allies in asia, eastern europe, south america and africa.

I understand the idea, but it's not accurate.

"I understood the idea..."

I do appreciate the corrections and I hope you will follow the link to Wiki and report the errors there? However, with respect, you have not understood. The point is, why has nothing changed? Why are we still "Divided by the Land"? That is not to say, divided by the Cold War era map, but divided by Nationalism.

I do not believe in National identity, which serves the State over and against the people. National identity serves to distance the populace by keeping us divided in the interest of State policy. I believe on ONE Earth we are all brothers and sisters. We are not the same because, "we get to carry each other".

"but it's not accurate."

That is partially the point? Hence the title, "Civilized World Map", and "Divided In The Land", as opposed to "Divided By The Land". Also, note the recycle sign in the lower right corner? I have recycled the map to serve my purpose. There is nothing "Civilized" about this map or the current status of National division.

Have a good week. Peace & Love.

Hi, no need to get defensive. We're just discussing.
I must agree with you, the nationalism is giant problem with modern society. I believe it should not have place in our countries, our hearts... not anymore.

In the past, tribes were driven by a simple instinct - to eliminate the foreign tribes, claim the territory, procreate as much as possible, expand. The game was - Survival of the fittest.

We don't live by these rules anymore, we are civilized. therefore, we should not be driven by these primitive instinct anymore.

Most of all, it doesn't make any sense. We all should know who we are, who our ancestors were, where we stand, and where we want to go, what we'd like to become. It doesn't require a diploma to realize, that other people have their identity, their feelings, their dreams as much as we do.
Wouldn't be nice to just get along (with exception to hostility and threats, we can't ignore), protect the weaker, cherish the diversity ?

Plus nobody should feel proud or superior of something he/she hadn't influence in the first place. that makes very little sense, if any.

I understand your explanation, I have to admit I didn't get the message behind it before.

You have a good week too,
and thanks for your views.

Hey brother, I misread the comment as a dig and for that I offer my sincere apology. I think it was compounded by the fact I deleted the PSD file accidentally and have to redesign the whole thing. While the accuracy isn't as important as the message, I should have done a little research. I am greatly disappointed by the errors.

I really appreciate the gentle nature of your reply, as well as the quality of your comments. Peace and love brother.

Appreciate your words my friend. I think we're both on the same page anyways. I got also somewhat negative feedback on [link] and i have to admit, i was a bit defensive at first as well. When we spend hours designing a work in every possible aspect, it's not always easy to instantly open up to critics.
But eventually, it's all good. Art is a form of communication, and thanks to you, I had an opportunity on think about the matter of 'worlds' classification. And whether we like it or not, there are still many parallel human words on this planet.

You're right, why three? Why not one? Oh, that's right. We are one world.

the "Cold War" is over almost 20 years ago (teorically, at least) but still there's a lot of people who uses the expressions "first world" and "third world" to explain about the countries...

it's awesome to see an art like that, because I think this is so ridiculous....

Yes, wakwham! American media still reference parts of the world as "third". We are all ONE my brother!

This is a Cold War era map! Hence the aged look and the link to Wiki which explains all this. (?)

The point being made, division still stands. What are you going to do about it?
