FFFF, anyway, this is that comic I promised a while ago!
My reaction to that scene the first time I saw it was basically:

I mean the second Lance made that rape face I couldn't stop laughing. And the rape face after was just as bad, LOL.
This is my biggest comic ever! And this took way too long to make. The whole thing was inked in sharpie, live-traced on Illustrator and completed in Photoshop. References I used were screencaps from the episode. Most of my time was spent doing line-clean up. Especially for the edges. I could have left them, but...I hated the faint white outline it had.
For Lance's seizure, I needed to watch the Family Guy Surfin' Bird episode, LOL. And heck yes, that's a LEAF DRESS Ilana is wearing there (I really wish she had that instead. Tinkerbell Hippie level would have went up 8D). Sorry to Octus fans, he should have came out better XD
Enjoy as always! I'm staying away from comics for a while (for obvious reasons). Lesson learned from this: NEVER RP while you want stuff to get done. It's too distracting! D:

I don't think that was a rape face. i think he was happy she wasn't, you know, DEAD. no offense, but i REALLY don't get how people see these two as a couple. their cover story aside, i think Lance sees her more as a teacher, something he can aspire to be, while at the same time, trying to teach her how to come back down to earth. she's making him open up as a person, whether he wants to or not. For instance, in ""under the Three moons" Lance's Dance with Ilana at the end is one of the best character development scenes in the series. compare Ilana's sadness and Lances response here to the one In "Neighbors inο»Ώ Disguise" : there, as he'd only known her a few days, Lance didn't know how to respond, which got Ilana angry, but here as some time has passed, he knows what she was hoping for, and gives her what she needed: A Harvest Dance. It shows how much he has opened up and developed as a person.
Redemption. that's what I think the series is about.
What's more, he's obviously interested in Kristen. we need more art of her, Damnit!

However, even as a neutral shipper, I thought Lance would react odd to seeing Ilana naked, just because he's awkward, not because he loves her XD.

on that, i actually have to disagree. Lance doesn't strike me as having had many, if any, friends in the army, both due to his rebellious nature and his fight with Baron in "shadows of youth" i think he was more concerned with that they had died because they were watching him, so he blames himself for their deaths, in a way. he does seem to have self-loathing issues.

i mean, we've had our Lance and Octus Focused episodes, but we never saw one for Ilana. It's almost like she's a background Character, she's just there to give Lance and Octus a reason to be on Earth. which was another Inspiration for my "hands and heart" fanfic.

The comic was totally just for fun, haha. For fans of the pairing, there were some subtle hints that they could have been together like the burger eating scene where Lance mistakenly says 'she's just a friend,' the little bit where he asks Ilana to the dance first, and the scene earlier in this episode where he says she was pretty. It seemed one-sided on Lance to me. Although, I love just seeing them bicker on TV as siblings, it's so funny. And I do agree, we need more Kristin art here :/
