Impact

You might not take me seriously, but please hear me out.
This is an amazing piece of art here. You might not dither or shade or even color this art, but, you animated this art really, really well.
This art has a niche. It is sihoulette based, and you don't see that everyday on Deviantart. You mostly see color, shades, really long GIFS.
However, you sacrificed the colors, textures, and shading, which sucks. But, it lead you to perfect the animation, instead of worrying about is this colorful.
The technique, though, didn't require a lot of advanced skill, but it took you a lot of time to animate it.
This really impacted me here, showing sophistated animations can be simple; it doesn't have to be complex with many colors everywhere.
What you should do from here? Well, you should go on Photoshop, make fairly sophisticated animations. Don't just make him/her run, walk. Make a show out of it. Show him encountering a dragon, running away from a dog, or just saying hi.
This, in conclusion, is amazing piece of art, even if it doesn't have a color "tone" to it.

Have you heard of a game called Tower of the Gorillion? I think it would be right up your alley, stylistically anyway.

Also, great work!

Sorry, but i've been using it myself as my icon on several websites, and use it as part of my art identity, so i'd rather keep this limited to that for now. If it weren't for that, I'd be totally down to let you! Sorry!

I'm currently in need of money pretty badly, so you could commission me for something if you want/can!

How much is a commissionΒ I have next to no points so if I can commission then I definitelyΒ will

I'm taking commissions via PayPal (dA points don't do much in the way of buying me food and art utensils). I've opened up colored traditional drawing commissions the other week for $5-7. I haven't opened up pixel art commissions quite yet, but I'm thinking it'll end up being around $7-8 since it's a lot more time consuming and tedious, and extra if it's animated, depending on the complexity of the animation.

Ummmmm... Its one of the best 8-bit animations i've seen so far, but what is it even for creature? (no offense)

To be honest, I'm not too certain what he is exactly. Perhaps an elk guy or something?Β

Also, sorry if I sound like an ass, but please don't use the 8-bit term when referring to pixel art not designed for 8-bit hardware, as this wasn't designed as 8-bit artwork (though the color scheme is binary(1bit)). Pixel art is the method of designing raster images made pixel by pixel all by hand, while 8-bit is a computational term meaning that the computer operates using eight digits per bit of data (examples of hardware using this now low spec include the NES/Famicom). While the medium of pixel art became a huge part of culture because of the 8-bit hardware, a lot of modern pixel art is created very differently, including this piece, both stylistically and technically, as there is no need to abide by size/color limits and modern pixel art is seen on crisp, sharp screens, allowing for more unique details, whereas pixel art made for 8-bit systems like the NES had to keep in mind that it was being viewed on a potentially blurry CRT monitor.Β

8-bit may be used to refer to the subgenre of minimal pixel art that works within these constraints and design concepts, but calling just any piece of pixel art 8-bit is disrespectful for those who actually create that kind of artwork and those who appreciate it, and it also gives the wrong idea to some people that pixel art is supposed to emulate a retro look, when in fact, it's not.

No harsh feelings, though. I thought if explain it so I don't just call you out without giving a proper explanation. The more you know, I guess.

Also, thanks for the compliment! I might suggest checking out my project "STETIK SAVES FRIEND" if you're interested in seeing more art like this.
