haah that is cool how you've done the characters that way. maybe try adding some darker shadows? with a contrast?

With the great photo reference that you had, this really could have been a lot better than it is. You had black and white, man! It's not nearly as clear and contrasting as the original. I realize that you probably weren't actually attempting to copy, but you took enough of that picture to warrant a link to it from this one. The original had a lot of potential, and you didn't utilize any of the dark shadows.

The positions look a little stilted and stiff, and the expression on the guy's face is confusing. I can't tell what he's feeling in this picture. It's kind of like you started to give him an expression, and then stopped before you got there. Your style isn't realistic enough for subtlety. If it's not dynamic, it won't read.

I like the girl's arms and hands. I wish that she had a mouth.

All that said, keep drawing. Don't let my harshness get you down, I tell you all this with love behind it. A sick, demented version of love that makes me want to hit you until you start living up to your references.
