This is the companion piece for Hot Pink [link] .

While I designed the outfit for Otogi, she created this look for Malik. As the title suggests, he's bedecked in various shades of violet and purple. The outer shirt is transparent and the pants are leather - tied up with purple ribbon along the side. His hair has been spiked up with purple gel to give him that transverse 'yami' look. The bits of jewelry are my personal touches.
Note the wedding band. That's another little element that connects him to Otogi.

I had a touch of trouble with the lighting effects - I'm still not happy with how that turned out.
I also tried a ton of fonts until I found this one. It kinda looks good against that shadow.

I really played around with the dark and light contrast tool.

Pay homage to Malik's uber-sexiness.

My, my, Malik. How dreamy you look. It may be the silky purple shirt or the soft coloring. Well, whatever it is, he looks very nice. What first caught my eye was the color of his skin. It's so creamy brown. The highlights and different shades of brown just add to the softness.

I love how he's posed. He looks so calm and cool. I just noticed that his hair might be why this pic has a dreamy look to it. I'm not used to seeing Malik with a different 'do, but this one really does suit him nicely. It kind of reminds me of Mariku's 'do. Hm.

Those pants, wow. Love the criss-cross effect down the sides where it shows some skin. I've seen several types of these pants drawn for certain characters, and it's always complimentary and gives him a slight " I'm hot and you know it" edge. Very nice. Of course, you know I like how the pants show a bit more skin. The shirt seems to work well for Malik here, too. It's accents his chest nicely and allows us to see his well-toned stomach. *_*

The coloring all around is very soft and smooth. The highlights and shading have an airbrushed look to them, which I find more complimentary than sharp shading.

I just thought of something. With the background, it looks like he's standing on a platform in a studio or something... and you can see several spotlights breaking up the darkness of the background. Makes me think he's participating in a photo shoot. Hm, anywho, the background really came out nice, as did the text on the side. Purple seems to be the color of choice, and I wouldn't have chosen any other cool. Purple just works in favor of this.

Well, just as my previous raver pic was entitled 'Hot Pink' and featured Otogi in pink, this one is called 'Ultra Violet' with good reason.

Very nice! Malik looks so hot. I love his hair style If I had to give any critique, I'd probably say to make the individual strokes not so apparent, it makes certain places look kind of blotchy. (like the hair shading)

I was trying to soften that up, but it didn't want to work for me. I'm still clueless about half the tools on Paintshop.
I had colored the hair normal and I loved how that came out, but I had to add in the purple streaks from the gel. ANd I experimented with various levels of transparancy, but I couldn't get it to work right.
Hell, you should have seek the trouble I went through to get the shirt just right.

lol. It's so much easier with a tablet, but with a mouse, I generally just use the blur function. All programs have it(I'm sure you know about it too). I imagine you spent a lot of time and effort on that pic, and having something small and easily fixable mar it is just silly.
