Description
Happy Birthday to *cherriuki !! <3I really really hope you like this picture!
Sorry for the uninspired title of the picture.. *fails at titles orz*
So~ This is her OC, Kurohana. I loved drawing her, she was absolutely incredible to draw, and I definitely want to draw her again sometime!
She's supposed to be holding her hand out for you to take it, btw.. Yeah, I can't draw hands DX
I can't draw skirts either ¬¬
Must practice hands and skirts!! D=
Also there are lots of really bad mistakes >__< I was going to redraw it because of them, but I kept failing.. -__- I tried to tidy this version up as best I could, sorry if it's not very good..

I've been really busy due to a variety of reasons, looking for work, my parents moving, and other personal issues. Basically it's been a really hectic few months, and I just let dA (and various other websites) completely get away from me. But hopefully I'll be less restricted by real life stuff now =]
Oh, that's cool~ But it sounds like a pretty big field. Is there any area (or something) that you want to design for particularly?

Hey, not bad for an original piece Love the detail of the background and that wicked scythe!
I'm sure you're already aware of it and I apologise for repeating it again, but just to offer my constructive feedback on this piece; The perspective of her right hand is off As Jay has already mentioned, all you need to consider next time is to enlarge her hand a bit more, so that the illusion of perspective can be conveyed. Remember that the closer the object is to the viewer, the larger it will appear in comparison to the rest of the scene
And I know you'll probably disagree, but I'd like to confirm that I think the skirt is fine as it is, at least given this particular posture of the character A good attempt overall of a non-replica image without reference. Once you're getting the feel of these original drawings, I'm sure you'll perfect it in no time; You have definitely have the potential

Thank you~! ^^
I know~ I need to practice hands like mega-crazy >__< And I need to learn more about things like perspective -__- Perspective is evil! D= But I won't try and avoid these things (which is why I've been choosing these sorts of poses, it forces me to practice things I'd otherwise avoid ^^)
I think the, like, detail is a mess, and the shading.. and some of the folds don't make sense.. The black lines that run down the skirt aren't good if you follow each of them (I think one even disappears halfway down or something )
Thank you very much for the comment and critique! ^^

It looks fine, apart from the aforementioned hands. It may look daunting at first, but her extending hand and forearm needs to be enlarged so it looks like itβs in perspective. Are her hands somehow in a different colour to her legs?
The posture is correct and the skirt is okay. I myself also cannot draw skirts well. A good try nonetheless.

I know, hands and perspective~ no my strong point >__< But at least drawing pictures like this forces me to practice them, even if it means they don't turn out very good
They aren't supposed to be.. I kind of really messed up the colour on her hands.. orz
Thank you~ ^^

You're totally welcome, I'm really glad you like it, I'm sorry I kind of messed her up at parts
But she was really really fun to draw! ^^
I'll definitely keep practicing! ^^
Thank you so much for the kind comment

Still a great job for smoething that you yourself drew without references. I really like the background and the skirt looks fine. The hand does a need a bit of work though.
Try finding a picture with a character reaching out and internalize the picture's hand and practice the curves if the hand and such (wow that didn't make sense at all)

Thanks ^^
Bleh~ People say it, but I still think the skirt looks really dodgy -_-
It did make sense, that what I tried to do, but could find a character holding their hand out like that.. so winged it and failed orz
Thank you very much for the favourite though! ^^

You think so? I think it looks a mess ;__;
I know~ I may have tried something too hard with the hands.. and totally messed up the colouring on them sooo bad >__<

KyashaKitsune In reply to sakesend [2011-03-16 22:49:31 +0000 UTC]
hands take alooooot of practice...I try to obscure the hands I draw so that I can get away with only using about 2-3 lines to indicate the presence of a hand.....so I kinda cheat ..hehe
and yup I pretty much agree with ya on the coloring of the one hand =/
It takes practice ^_^

sakesend In reply to KyashaKitsune [2011-03-16 22:56:08 +0000 UTC]
I'm forcing myself not to obscure hands so that I have to practice them It's my technique for getting better.. I don't know whether it will work or just ruin all of my pictures >__<
I'll keep practising then ^^

KyashaKitsune In reply to sakesend [2011-03-17 02:21:02 +0000 UTC]
Lolz I really have to not obscure the hands I draw either
I'm trying to study some of the hand pictures/sketches in the drawing book I have...don't know how much it'll help but we'll see
