Wonderful. I was just going about working on a painting (I'm relatively new to actual PAINTING as opposed to simple cel-shading, but I'm trying to work on it to broaden my knowledge a bit) and was actually having quite a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to define shading without making it look completely amateur and awful.. Hopefully this should give me a few tips to improve, thanks! (:

Maybe it's just the way my brain works, or the fact that I've always been more pencil+paper and not painterly... but I can't grasp the concept of starting from splotches of colour instead of rough lines.
I imagine this saves a bit of time in the long run though; not having to do line art + clean line art + painting over top of that.
Perhaps I should practice a bit.
