YAY another Log after so long! ´u` I've been drawing my babies on and off inbetween breaks from work the past couple months, so I thought to take a few pictures and compile them in a log c:

To any new watchers wondering, these are characters from my project NuError *group here   *
Like always, please allow me to run my mouth about them for a bit yay!

1st Picture Rhyacotritonidae
Characters: Eri (front), Kez (back)

Even if our bodies and lungs melt together
We can still breathe through our skin
Even if my ears and eyes close forever
I can still hear you scream

Eri and Kez are Lyzlot's Anima °3° Kez's face can be seen here:

Because they died by (and in) each other's hands, their bodies rotted together, resulting in their souls melting into one as well. Therefore their Anima form is a salamander with two heads. Kez and Eri were actually cousins before becoming Anima, but they are listed as "Kezeri Brothers" in the scientists' Anima Database.
As Anima: Eri (on the left) is pretty stupid and lacks common sense, while Kez is serious and calculating. Kez is also blind from one eye (an injury he got while still human), and has therefore no sense of depth and direction. He won't admit it, but a reason he follows Eri around and sticks like glue to him is also so that he won't end up crashing on a tree or falling off a cliff or something XD Eri on the other hand has the stupid habit of gauging his right eye out, saying it's unfair for him to have two eyes, and Kez only one. Yet his eye regenerates back to normal with time (since Anima are just energy and can't get permanently injured), which makes Kez rather annoyed (his own injury can't heal, since he got it while he was still human).

Eri and Kez are very protective of their host, Lyzlot. They get along well, but also have silly arguments from time to time, since Eri has the IQ of a potatoe, and always suggests unreasonable things.
Their weapon-form is two twin, black daggers. When Lyzlot acquired them in the Road of Trials, Eri and Kez offered him their hands to create those two weapons.
Kez and Eri are both 31 y/o. You can read a tiny bit more about their story here: Kezeri Brothers - Lyzlot's Anima

Rhyacotritonidae is a salamander species name and means "Torrent salamander"

2nd Picture Broken Vane
Character: Keiti

In the wind she sways like a vane
blades that connect an end
And endlessly she cries in pain
scissors that separate and amend

I realized I hardly ever draw her, so I wanted to make up for that ;u; Keiti is one of the 6 main characters in the story, and daughter to the president of their country. She therefore has to often deal with terrorists attacking her to kill her (Vael included, in which he pretty much succeeds, by inflicting a lethal wound to her)

Keiti lost her mother when she was 9 y/o. They were taking a trip to old temple ruins together, where they found the knife Keiti's holding in the picture. It's an old relic said to stop time for everything it cuts. At some point, a Demi-monster attacked the family, grabbing the little Keiti by the hair. To release her, her mother cut her daughter's hair and they escaped together. Yet now cut by the knife, Keiti's hair would never grow longer again. Every time the young Keiti looked in the mirror, she would remember that traumatizing day. To make her feel better, the mother cut her own hair and made a fake ponytail for Keiti, which she wears up to this day (in the picture here as well). Her mother's hair is slightly lighter than her own.

Not many days later, her mother dies during another Demi attack. Keiti holds on to the knife as a memento. What she doesn't know is that the knife is also a cursed relic that is rumored to separate children from their mothers.

“Broken Vane” is the name of the knife she’s holding. It’s a knife that resembles scissors and whatever gets cut by it, gets separated from time and stands still.

:Art-comment: I wanted to try giving Keiti different clothes, since her previous design was a bit too colorful and casual. Also took this as an opportunity to design a first concept for the curse knife. I liked how both the dress and the knife's designs came out, so I'm keeping them /0/

3rd Picture Metamorphosis
Character: Idris

Did you know?
Whenever a butterfly tries to fly and reach the clouds,
God turns it into a praying mantis for its arrogance.
Now, its body heavy, can’t reach the skies
Now, its hands thorny, can’t embrace the one it loves.
The praying mantis can only embrace itself.
And thus it dies alone.

Wanted to draw Idris again! ´u` You can read a bit more about him in the previous log:
Idris is a bit of a creep and tells silly lies, presenting them as scientific facts haha. For example how Mantises were created after butterflies were punished for flying too high up lmao. He tells all those lies to judge who's clever enough to see through them and who not.

Idris doesn't like being hugged, and that's one of the reasons he inserted those spiked piercings on his forearms. They are also used for self-defense, and are there to resembled the spines on a mantis' front legs. The animal form of his Anima is a Praying Mantis after all, and therefore this insect is a reoccuring theme/subject for him (like the mantis-tattoo on his cheek, that covers up an old scar).
In the story, he starts appearing more frequently after Keiti ends up in the hospital, lethally wounded by Vael's attack. Idris visits her there, since they know each other since childhood.
Idris is 24y/o before the timeskip, and 27 after it. Shinkami and Lyzlot can barely stand him. Lyn on the other hand seems to be the only one who can endure having him around (probably because she's deaf and can't hear his stupid science facts LMAO)

Metamorphosis is Greek word that means "transformation". It's also the process of insects turning into their adult-form from their worm/caterpillar stage.

:Art-comment: A 2h speedpaint that I did while listening to Blue Stahli’s Metamorphosis and was wondering if butterflies turned into praying mantises along the lines of evolution for some reason haha...yeah.

4th Picture Ossarium
Character:  Shinkami (post-time skip)

Snake bones in a children’s sandbox
Butterflies pinned on piles of corpses.
I’ll ignore them as I look straight through a bird’s skull,
The notes of death until my lungs spit up feathers are sung
In this world cursed and beautiful, you dwell
Allow me to sin,
…
for you as well.

Another fast speedpaint haha. This is after the timeskip that happens at the end of the first half of the story. Shin is almost 22 years old then, and not very happy with how things are not getting better at all I wanted to quickly sketch his design after that 3-years timeskip. Since Shin spends those years underground, I wanted to change his clothes to a darker palette. Also played around with a few things in his design, altering some details etc. The design will undergo more changes whenever I have time to flesh it out fully, but for now, I just wanted to have a quick sketch of it down ;u;b

Shin's hair also changes: He wears it shorter and the ends of it are dyed black on the outside, while part of the back/sides of his head is shaved (I love shaved sides yumyum *q* ). He changes his appearance for safety reasons/to fit more with the underground market people (Vael's Arc in the story). He spends those 3 years sniffing out information and trying to remain hidden afterall (he's after Vael, while Vael is after him too...or rather "was"-- spoilers spoilerssss).

Ah as for the knife, it's Keiti's knife shown two pictures above.  Keiti gives it to Lyzlot as a present a some point, and without knowing, it curses him: Lyzlot ends up getting "separated" from his mother, just like Keiti got separated from her own. Shinkami takes ownership of the knife afterwards to protect Lyzlot from getting cursed any further. He uses it only on two specific occassions: On Vael and later on Lerato as well.
Shin also gets cursed himself: Whenever he tries to go see his mother, an unfortunate event happens to him, preventing him from seeing her. Not that he goes see her that often though, as he doesn't want her to know who he is Q3Q So not much damage done.

Aaaah I wish I could play more with his design but no time right now _(:3_)TL

"Ossarium" in Latin means "Ossuary", a place where you keep bones of dead people. Shinkami refers to himself as a "sandbox ossarium" at some point in the story, since his body is like an ossuary, keeping his dead bones inside. Therefore: snake bones/sandbox→Shin, butterflies →Vael/Hlaeja, bird →Lerato, feathers →Lyn, cursed →Keiti, beautiful →Lyz, sin →????
